Material Stinks

I really like the look of the skirt, but as soon as I opened the package I got a huge whiff of a weird balloon-type smell. Like rubbery/latex smell? I washed the skirt once and it didn't go away, so I let it sit in a drawer for a month and it still smells. I will keep washing it and hopefully get to wear it eventually without smelling weird.
