The AJ6 debuted in 1991 when MJ won his first championship, helping build his legend. Symbolizing speed and victory, the silhouette was inspired by sleek sports cars—and was also the first Jordan sneaker to feature reinforcement around the toe area, as well as the distinctive molded heel tab. It went on to become a cornerstone of the Jordan legacy, and its iconic details—like the tongue and lace locks—have stood the test of time.

I love this shoe and the color way but Nike/Jordan has really dropped the ball with quality control as far as inspecting the details/paint. There are many flaws and color transfer spots.

Air Jordan Kids’ Grade School 6 Retro “Infrared Salesman” – Full Detailed Review I recently purchased the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared Salesman” and after wearing them consistently, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite pairs of sneakers I’ve owned. Everything about this shoe — from the design to the comfort to the overall feel — makes it stand out in the best way possible. First Impressions When I first opened the box, the presentation alone already had me excited. The black upper immediately caught my attention because it gives the shoe a bold but clean look. Then you notice the infrared red accents, and that’s when it really pops. The contrast between the black and infrared is perfectly balanced. It’s not too loud, but it’s definitely not plain. It has that classic Jordan energy that makes you stop and look twice. The shape of the Jordan 6 is iconic. The structure is strong, the tongue stands tall, and the lace lock gives it that signature detail that separates it from regular sneakers. You can tell right away that this isn’t just another pair of basketball shoes — it’s a piece of sneaker history. Design & Style The design is one of the biggest highlights. The black upper makes it super versatile. You can wear these with almost anything: • Black joggers • Light blue jeans • Athletic shorts • Hoodie outfits • Even simple school fits The infrared accents add personality without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of shoe that upgrades your entire outfit. You could be wearing something basic, throw these on, and suddenly it looks like you actually planned your fit. The icy sole at the bottom gives it that premium, clean finish. It adds contrast and makes the shoe look fresh straight out of the box. Even after wearing them multiple times, they still keep that sharp look. Comfort & Fit A lot of retro basketball shoes look good but aren’t always the most comfortable right away. These surprised me. The cushioning feels solid and supportive. They don’t feel too soft or too stiff — it’s a good balance. When walking around school all day or being out for hours, my feet don’t feel sore. The ankle support is especially noticeable. The high-top design hugs your ankle without feeling restrictive. They did not take long to break in either. After a couple wears, they felt even more natural on my feet. The inside padding around the collar adds extra comfort, which helps if you’re wearing them for long periods. Sizing was true to size for me. They fit snug and secure, but not tight. I didn’t feel any sliding inside the shoe, which is important for both comfort and performance. Performance (On Court) Even though a lot of people wear Jordan 6s casually, they still perform well if you actually play basketball in them. • The traction grips the floor nicely. • Quick movements feel stable. • The shoe doesn’t feel heavy when running. • Lateral movements feel controlled. When making cuts or quick stops, I didn’t feel like I was sliding around. The sole design provides good grip, which builds confidence while playing. The ankle support also helps you feel more secure when jumping or landing. They may not be the newest performance basketball shoe on the market, but they still hold their own. Quality & Durability One thing I really appreciate is the build quality. The stitching is clean, the materials feel sturdy, and nothing about the shoe feels cheap. The upper feels durable and structured. After multiple wears, there are no loose threads or weird creasing beyond what’s normal. The black color also helps hide minor dirt, which is a bonus. They’re easier to keep looking fresh compared to all-white sneakers. You can tell these were made to last, especially if you take care of them. Details That Stand Out Some small details that make this shoe special: • The classic Jordan 6 silhouette • The lace lock • The visible air unit • The bold tongue design • The contrast between black and infrared Every detail feels intentional. It’s not overdesigned. It’s simple but powerful. Confidence Factor This might sound dramatic, but certain shoes just make you feel different when you wear them. These are one of those pairs. They give off confident energy. When I walk into school or out somewhere wearing them, I feel like my whole fit is leveled up. People notice them. They’re recognizable without being basic. Value Yes, retro Jordans can be expensive. But you’re paying for: • A timeless design • Solid comfort • Strong durability • Performance capability • Style versatility In my opinion, they’re worth it. This is the type of shoe you can wear often and still feel excited about. Final Thoughts Overall, the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared Salesman” is a five-star sneaker for me. It combines style, comfort, performance, and durability in one package. Whether you’re wearing them casually or actually playing basketball, they deliver. They look amazing, feel great, and hold up well over time. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a clean, classic, and confident sneaker. Definitely one of the best pickups I’ve made.
