Own 2 pairs (tan & gray) for about a year now. Just traveled across several EU countries over 2 weeks time and consistently wore them for daily exploring and dinners in town. For me the pants are comfortable whether sitting for hours on a train ride or moving around. The pants pair well with casual or trendy shirts. Being made of lightweight material was a big advantage to reduce luggage weight/size and quicker drying after laundry - when needed. The waist does run small compared to traditional men’s sizes. Having worn other manufacturers brand's of trail pants, I prefer Alpine Design the most and plan to add more colors when available - in stock.

Good On The Trail In Shoulder Seasons
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prefer convertible pants for backpacking trips on the AT in late spring or early fall when I anticipate warmer weather and want to ability to convert to shorts without having to take off my boots. Early spring or later fall, when I expect colder temps, these pants are great. I like the low profile inseam (no chafing), water repellent finish (rain on the AT is often frequent) and light weight (no need for bush whacking).

Just Ok.
Bought these on clearance. Wouldn't pay full price. As others have said, they do run a couple sizes small in the waist and a couple inches long. Other than that, they are fairly comfortable.

Very Thin
The Tech material is very thin, like some dress pants.
