I really enjoyed this shoe at first wearing it just casually, the zero drop, the somewhat wide toe box, the cushion, and the stability of the shoe overall That all changed when I wore them for the first long walk, which was only 4 miles. After the first half mile I could sense a little something going on with my right heel, but made the fatal mistake of pushing on. By mile 2 I knew I was in serious trouble, so I turned around. At mile 3 my right heel was screaming at me, and made the mistake of telling my girlfriend that "at least my left one feels okay". The last mile was a complete torture chamber, with both of my heels feeling like they were going through a cheese grater. I had read the reviews from others with similar issues and figured that it was a small percentage that I wouldn't be in, but I was wrong. I've never had this issue with any other shoes I've owned, and I go through a lot of shoes for a wide array of activities and casual wear. Based on my experience with shoes, I can only point the finger at the Torin 8 itself for the band-aids presently on my heels. Given my own issues, and the number of people with similar issues, I can't recommend this shoe to anyone.

I wear them to work. I work standing most of the day, 10 hours a day. Sometimes I do over 20k steps. Overall very comfortable and help me not feel as tired as before I got them.

I bought these to rotate in with two other pair of running shoes. I’ve had Altra’s before so I am familiar with the zero drop and wide toe box. These are super comfy but I needed 10 or so miles to break them in. So far so good.

Purchased the Torin 7's on a great deal so decided to try the 8's. Great shoe, Altra in general, for runners with wider feet. Only one run in so far with these but will be in the rotation for trainers.
