Significant Step Back From The 12
I've been using the GT-2000 as my main running shoe for a few years now, and this one unfortunately doesn't work as well for me. I have both this and the GEL-Kayano, and they're too similar. The GT 13 has more stack height than the 12 did, which makes it too soft and similar to the Kayano. The lower drop is nice, but the softness seems to come with less stability. They reduced the overall forefoot flare from the 12, which combined with the increased stack height reduces the stability. The fit is a bit tighter as well, but I don't have any issues with that. Grip seems slightly improved too, as the 12 could be a bit slippery in the rain. Solid shoe overall, but disappointing in that it just isn't what I wanted from the GT. If I want a max cushion shoe I'll buy one, but the GT is missing that responsiveness and support I was looking for.

Still My Favorite Training Shoes
I've had over 30 pairs from this family of shoes, going back to the GT2010 model. These shoes work really well for my foot shape and gait. Every now and then I've strayed to other models and brands and have come back immediately. The GT-2000 13 seems improved on the previous 3 or 4 models in that they appears to be wearing better on the underside, more like they used to 4 or more years ago. The heal pads seem better shaped and positioned. The one big annoyance is the laces are quite a bit shorter and it's a real struggle to double bow them for long runs. This seems to happen every 3 or 4 model years. I like it that a loop has been added at the back of the shoe to aid putting them on without risk of eventual ripping of the head inside liner. Nice.

To Narrow In The Toe Box For A Size Wide
I bought this shoe to replace my daily trainers for pronation control and to get a slightly lower drop of 8mm. I normally wear size 10.5 wide for room in the toe box. Unfortunately the toe box on these is just to narrow for my foot. They are a quality shoe, if you have narrow feet they will perform for you
