Superblast 2 Small Defect

I picked up this shoe last week and took it out for a 15-mile long run. The ride, comfort, and responsiveness were excellent, it really performs well over distance. That said, the tongue design is a drawback for me. Unlike the well-padded tongues on the Nimbus 27 or Novablast 5, this one lacks cushioning. During the run, the unpadded leather tongue rubbed against my anterior ankle, eventually cutting into the skin. I was wearing low-cut socks, so that area was exposed, and it definitely became an issue by the end of the run. I’ll switch to ankle-length socks going forward, but I’m still puzzled why ASICS didn’t include padding on the Superblast tongue, especially for a premium, high-mileage shoe like this.

Close To Perfect Shoe - But You Pay For It.

Would I have spent $200 on running shoes if I didn’t have a gift card? Probably not. But I’m glad I splurged. The hype is real with these shoes. Super lightweight, without losing structure, cushion or responsiveness. Actually surprised at the support of this shoe considering it’s a neutral shoe with tons of cushion. Can’t speak to durability - which is a definite consideration at this price point - but for a smooth, comfortable run that also allows you to push it speed-wise, this shoe is at the top of the list.

Gets Better As You Use It

This shoe changes about every hundred miles That being said I’m at 460 miles and still have some life to it. I’m 5 foot 11 195 lb runner. I hate to say I train hybrid, but I do my legs always feel tired and heavy. That’s what convinced me to use the shoe I think it’s more of a Jack of all trades could use it on long runs I don’t think the best be true but you could definitely use it. It’s a lot of shoe under foot But it’s definitely not heavy. It’s awesome definitely not Plush. I’m going to get my second pair tmrw in a new color way actually I have a video up on my YouTube reviewing it quickly just don’t want to put the link here, but it might answer some other questions Jared0114
