Cushion And Slight Rocker Feel
ASICS gel nimbus used to be my go to, always, over 10 years ago (I bought them for over 15 years) and then they changed their cushion material and I developed plantar fasciitis (painful!) after a year of healing I was weary what brand to try next and found that many other brands went to cheaper material as well. I settled on Brooks (they weren’t as good as the old ASICS, and also didn’t get as many miles out of them), but was the best I could find at that time. Brooks material isn’t lasting even a few months for me before cushion dies out also the cushion material not good quality. So back to looking again. I decided to try the ASICS gel nimbus 27. I’ve only been wearing them for a month and half, here are my pros and cons so far: PROS; cushioned well (better than years prior when I stopped buying them but not as good as over 15 years ago), I didn’t think I’d like the slight rocker style, but actually ended up liking it fine and they don’t roll too much (was afraid of my ankle rolling, but that hasn’t happened). Like the array of color options and the material cleans up well. CONS; as I said, only a month and half into them (average of 80-100 miles so far) and they already have holes (apparently where socks rub) in both shoes inside back of upper heel, see pics, and I’ve developed blister callous on bottom of both inside heels, they aren’t painful and don’t know if it’s just adjustment to my feet in new shoes. OVERALL with choices available, I rate these fine so far, for what is available on other brands. Just wish all the brands go back to better quality material and cushion but like anything today, those days are gone, sadly.
