Favorite Color

Fits everything I need for work and isn't as bulky as other backpacks! Love the zip up water bottle holders, the magnetic laptop slot zipper and the organization inside the bag!

I like the backpack but hate the initials. I decided to add mine but they are huge and make my backpack look like a high school student’s — not professional.

Must Have Travel Item

Excellent But Too Heavy

A well thought out and constructed backpack. Excellent quality. There is just one drawback and that is that it is extremely heavy.

Zipper Twists On The Sides In Pics And My Bag

I really wanted to love this backpack - the design is clean and the layout is thoughtful - but the execution didn’t live up to the premium positioning for me. The front leather panel pulls inward, which distorted the shape of the bag and caused the zipper line to sit unevenly on the sides. Look at the demo pictures. The zipper twists and faces the person wearing the backpack instead of sitting evenly throughout. The bag is still usable, but the warping makes it feel less refined than expected at this price point. This may not bother everyone, but if you’re buying this as a premium leather backpack, it’s something to be aware of. I’d recommend inspecting the leather panel and zipper alignment closely when it arrives.

Ideal Backpack

Sleek yet sizeable, easy to carry and organize. This really is the perfect travel or everyday backpack. Recommend doing a color on color (e.g. black on black) monogram for a chic look!

Versatile

I haven't used this yet for a trip but I am excited to. Love the color and it's the perfect size to go with my carry-on bag. The compartments are perfect.

Upgrade From The Everywhere Zip Backpack

Now that I’m commuting several days a week, I needed a more functional backpack for daily use — but also wanted it to pull double duty as an airline-travel personal item. I already had the Everywhere Zip Backpack, which I’ve loved but always wished it had an external water bottle pouch and more easy-access organization. Enter, the Commuter Backpack. The outer storage pocket is a huge upgrade in itself — I can easily access my keys on the key leash, plus odds and ends like my wallet, chapstick, and sunglasses. The water bottle holders are just what I needed, and the laptop sleeve works just as my old bag did. I don’t even miss the full-zip design of the Everywhere Zip Backpack. If you’re looking for a functional everyday bag, the Commuter Backpack is a worthy upgrade!

Good Alternative To Smaller Options

I have the smaller original backpack from Away which I got in part because it was so small and would therefore keep me from overloading. I use it every week for work and have had it for about 7 years and it's still going strong. However, when I travel the backpack isn't great since I need more space and a water bottle holder-so I went back to Away. This backpack fits all of my travel needs: I have more than enough space for my things with a bit left over yet the backpack still fits easily under the seat in front of me and I never feel overloaded or bulky when I wear it. And love the many pockets and compartments which make it easy to stay organized, especially the separate compartment for the laptop.

Specious And Compacy.

This is a contained but very spacious backpack. It contains everything that used to be carried in my Everywhere bag plus a purse. A necessity now that airlines are strict about two items and two items only for carry on. The folddown front flap provides easy access to passport, wallet, keys, etc.
