Football Shoulder Pads

Bought these for my son, he really likes them. We purchased the protection plan because it seemed well worth the price

Decent Fit And Function

My son's previous pads were the Xenith Flyte 2 TD, and he has grown out of them. Unfortunately Xenith is no longer in business and there were other kids on the team with the Battle so we opted to try it out. My son is playing 12U: 4'11 and 130 pounds and we ordered the Defender in XL. The neck padding is very nice and thick. The padding above the collarbone is thicker than the Xenith, but about the same thickness for the chest and rear shoulder. The Battle attaches the padding via velcro strips which allows you to adjust the pads underneath the shell for better fit. The shoulder caps on the Battle are a little bit smaller than the Xenith, but have about the same amount of foam thickness underneath. They do still cover the AC joint fine, but when trying to raise your arms up, it seems to be rather limited on how high your arms can be raised. The sternum protector is good although smaller than the Xenith. The belt straps are nice and it tucks nicely underneath to keep it smoother underneath the jersey. My son plays RB and OLB and the pads have held up decently throughout the season. He does say they feel good and are light weight. Note: I do make my son wear an Underarmor Gameday Armor Pro chest shirt and it fits well underneath the pads for additional collar bone protection. I attached an adult sized back plate from Battle and the pre-existing holes allowed for an easy install. The white shell is visually striking and does draw positive feedback from his teammates. I do wish there was larger padding underneath the side belt buckle area to dissipate more energy if hit on the side (similar to the Xenith). Overall I would give it 4/5 stars.

Wonderful

Brought a month ago for my 11 year old son. They fit well and he loves them. They look great and the protection so far has met expectations.
