I bought this for my wife to use during her women's league. Gotta protect the chiclets and the pretty face. She prefers this better than the traditional cage because she said it gave her better a view of the ice.

Never got a chance to use this, as the screws it needed were not in the box. Returned to the store.

Overall, this is a great product and I’m glad I finally have the fishbowl. Visibility is excellent, ventilation is great, protection feels solid, and my helmet actually feels lighter. The biggest issue—and the reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars—is that the factory screws are not long enough. I attached it to a Bauer helmet, which should have been fully compatible, but the included screws wouldn’t work with the clamps. Thankfully, I had longer screws in my closet, but most people will likely need a trip to the hardware store. Once installed, adjusting the J-clips was fine, though the chin strap feels a bit loose. I’ll update after using it on the ice, but so far I’m happy with the product. Also worth noting: Dick’s Sporting Goods customer service was excellent. My first order was stolen, and they quickly sent a replacement—huge respect to them. Bottom line: awesome product, but be aware you may need longer screws to install it properly.

I purchased this full shield to replace the cage on the Bauer IMS 5.0 helmet. Granted, this shield costs more than the helmet itself, but I can always transition it to a more comfortable helmet in the future. Overall, it fits well enough and was easy to install. My only grip is that it feel a little short for my face length. I have a pretty large noggin and the chin cup sticks out slightly below the bottom of the shield. It is still more comfortable than the cage and much easier to see.

My son moved to Shields vs Cages a while back for visibility around his feet. Bonus now that COVID is in play that we have a little additional protection.

The clear mask is awesome. The shipment was missing the attachment clip. I had to fashion one out of cooper strap pipe hanger and cut the strap with Cutco scissors. I used the previous screws from the other cage.

Bought this to replace broken one. Never looked in box, opened at home and someone had switched it for wire mask. Ended having to go to Syracuse. Apparently NO ONE bothered to look inside package when originally returned.

I’ve used this for a few games and I love it. It only fogs when I breath on it and am sitting on the bench taking a break. As soon as I’m skating on the ice again it clears right up! This also changed my view and I never realized it was so clear with out the bars! I love it

First night going from the visor to the bubble shield > puck to the shield. Holds up! The only downside is that it fogs before the second period. I think if you put it on a Bauer helmet it will fit better and allow air to flow out easier. I have this on a CCM helmet so it hangs a little lower and my breathing hits the shield vs the openings at the bottom. Overall - great fit and very protective. Bring a towel on the bench and you’ll be fine.

Highly recommend this product for anyone interested. The mask does not fog up at all and I tend to sweat a lot when playing hockey. Well worth the money. Make sure it is compatible with your helmet first. It is very easy to install, only a few screws.

Lots of people are complaining about this bubble and how it scratches up or how it fogs up a lot. I came from wearing a Z Leader fish bowl in 2000. You wanna talk fogging up? That whole thing fogged up after a couple minutes of skating around. It was awful. So, I was VERY skeptical getting back into the bubble game. However, I absolutely hated playing with a cage. It's quite restricting, and gives me double vision, sometimes, so the cons outweighed the pros. I dove into this one, over the hybrid (cage bottom) shield. This thing is incredible. The clear bottom doesn't distract you like the hybrid's cage bottom would. You shouldn't have any scratches on it, if you use it's protective bag and handle it like the baby that it is. AND...the fogging... is nearly non-existent. I've played three roller sessions (two cold, one hot), and two ice sessions. It only fogged up at the nose area for a couple seconds, after skating and sweating really hard during the ice sessions. An amazing difference in 15 years of engineering. Truly mind blowing, because I expected it to be awful, after reading all the negative press on this shield.Do yourself a favor and buy this guy. It's night and day compared to a cage, and will improve your game two-fold.

Appears to be perfect fit on the Bauer helmet. Much clearer vision than the original wire cage guard.
