Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun I have had this rifle for a while. For the break in I just say in my basement and fired at 10 yards. The gun really smooths out especially the trigger. The trigger is much better than the old crosman trigger at first a bit gritty but all is good. Accuracy it likes crosman domes which in my experience crosman guns like crosman pellets. I tried jsb h and n barracuda and field target etc. They all so ok but not as well. I also own gamo and hatsan rifles and the np2 is so much smoother and easier to cock. I love that. The stock is my favorite part when I'm hunting the thumb hole is really comfortable and balanced well. All in all a great gun quickly becoming my go to gun

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unreliable nitro piston failed after only 200 shots and the scope that comes with it is a piece of junk. very disappointed with this purchase. bought in the fall and it did not work when I took it out in the spring and the dealer would not warranty it for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good balance, good power, stiff trigger This rifle is quieter than my other air rifle, but it is by no means whisper quiet. I like the feel and balance of this rifle. It comes to the shoulder just right with the scope lined up to my eye just like it should and the picatinny rail for the scope mount is a plus. The cross-hairs in the scope were a little fuzzy as it came from the factory, but after adjusting the focus they came very sharp. The instructions were not completely clear on this. There is a knurled locking ring that you first must release, then turn the eyepiece until the cross-hairs are sharp and black. Then tighten the locking ring. I am perfectly satisfied with this scope now. I measured the trigger pull with a Timney trigger scale. It varied a little from shot to shot, but averaged about 8-1/2 lbs, much too stiff for optimal accuracy. It does have good feel and breaks cleanly though. The trigger is adjustable for travel and adjusting that changed the pull weight a little as well. By increasing the first stage travel a lot (and decreasing second stage travel), the pull dropped to about 7-1/2 lbs, still much stiffer than I like. Except for the trigger pull, I really like this rifle, so I will be looking into an aftermarket trigger assembly. Unlike my other air rifle, this one does not set the safety on cocking. It is ready to fire as soon as cocked. You must manually set the safety each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Substantial rifle with built-in quality I was surprised to find, out after use, the manufactured quality that this rifle had. The power is awesome!.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised to have received an upgraded version I was pleasantly surprised you’ve received a version marked Nitro Piston Elite on the box and rifle instead of the expected “Nitro Piston 2”. Crosman customer support didn’t tell me much about the differences other than it now comes with a 5 year warranty Instead of a 1 year warranty. I’ll take it! Other than that, it looks and functions as expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be 5 Stars if ? I waited until I had shot 2000 rounds in 12 months through this pellet rifle before doing this review. I find very little value in reviews that are made after the product has been received but not tested other than a few shots sighting in, if that. I want to know how it will hold up in the field. Had I written this review last week, it would have had 5 stars given to it due to the fact I had shot almost 2000 rounds flawlessly with tremendous accuracy. This thing was a nail driver punching pellet behind pellet at 40 yards. I did have a Vortex scope with an adjustable objective lens in 4X12 power that really enhanced the accuracy. Locked in a rest shooting 40 yards with Crossman Premier Hollow Points at shot .28" groups all day long. Most pellets were in the target right behind the other.Phenomenal for a break-barrel or any type of air gun. Yesterday it happened. The rifle broke! The plastic barrel tube flew apart in dozens of tiny pieces after cocking the rifle and the rifle coming loose ant pushing the barrel back up so hard it broke my shooting glasses.. Now nothing works so it is off to the repair center. I can't imagine it ever coming out with the proficiency and accuracy again because it was a rarity exceptional !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another winner from Benjamin First day with it and I can tell I'm going to like this gun. The thumbhole stock really helped sell this one for me. I was shocked to see I ended up with the Center Point 3X9X40 with AO. Really pleased with combo on this. I was really surprised as to how accurate it is and being brand new. I've ran about 250 pellets thru it and so far the groupings tell me it likes the Crosman Premier Domed and Hollow point. For fun and as not to waste targets, I shoot at pop bottles and cans at 25 yards for the breakin period. After about 35 mins I could knock em around the yard with ease. I tired for the lids on the plastic bottles and demolished a few. The thumbhole stock is really nice and fits me perfectly. This may not work for people who have bigger hands though. The gun feels solid and the fit and finish was really good. I am really impressed on how much power the NP2 puts out. Both the Domed and Hollow points would pass thru a 1/2 piece of plywood at 25 yards with lots of damage on exit. Another reason I love the NP2 is how quiet it is. More noise out of the plastic bottle and tin cans than the gun. These NP2's are perfect who love to shoot and have close neighbors. I can see why the hunters would love this gun by being accurate and quiet. Hats off for the men and women who designed this series of guns with the NP2 and also the ones who assemble the guns here in the Good Ole USA. Glad my money is so well spent on something this good buitl at home. This is my second Benjamin purchase in as many months and I couldnt be more pleased. Now all I have to do is try to keep up with keeping them fed with pellets. I seem to go thru a lot lately. If you are looking for a quality made gun, and dont want to break the bank, Benjamin is the way to go. Highly recommend this gun.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It Broke Out Right I loved this rifle until it just broke it made a loud POP & that's all she wrote it was extremely accurate before it broke really a tack driver i was going to use it to hunt Squirrels but it didn't make it to the opening day Crosman was VERY GOOD about refunding my money . I am sure that there is many of the Trail NP2's out there doing great just my luck it just didn't work out for me & i take VERY GOOD care of my air guns & i never would mis treat it in any way because i just can't go & buy another one because i left it out in the weather not now & ever I am by no means saying that Benjamin rifles aren't at all just so happens that mine would mess up
