Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Line I've got NanoFil spooled up in 6lb, 8lb, 10lb, 12lb, 17lb, and soon 14lb... All are on spinning reels. I use it for nearly everything including salmon, trout, walleye, panfish, etc. The correct knot (double palomar) is mandatory... I've landed 20lb non-spawning mid-summer king salmon on 10lb NanoFil while pier fishing. These are full energy fish that go on 200yd runs. I've had St Croix rods break before frayed NanoFil breaks. Color retention is better than braids. Wind knots are substantially less frequent than with braids and I fill my spools all the way up to the lip. It is less abrasion resistant than braids though but I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was hesitant to put this on After reading some reviews on this line, I was sceptical if I even wanted to try it. While we were getting leaders set up, my guide even made the comment that he's seen a lot of fish lost due to equipment error and hates "that braid c rap" that some use when out with him. I handed him my spinning reel and said you're going to hate me then. He grabbed my line to set me up and had a " what's this?" puzzled look on his face. This picture was taken after my first cast, about 5 minutes into our trip. Hesitation, sceptical thoughts and fears are gone. I'd recommend again in a heart beat. This was about a 25-30# drum. I used a 30# mono leader tied to 10# Nanofil. No slips in the knot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low line memory but has a tendency to abrade. I bought this line to use on spinning reels. I use this line, bass fishing, to cast light lures with a medium heavy spinning rod. I required a light strength line with low memory for this type of fishing. I would rate this line casting ease above average (in comparison) to the same line strength/weight of monofilament. However, the line has a tendency to abrade rapidly compared to other lines. I have trimmed worn line off reel as the manufacture has recommended and have not broken off this line during while fishing. I feel if the abrasion issue could be resolved this would be and excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strength and castability I have seen a lot of controversy over this line, some really good, and some bad comments. I am on my second spool of this line, and I stepped up from 12lb to 17lb, and the hi-vis green. I have learned to tie the Nano-Knot and use it exclusively to tie on my terminal tackle. I just spent a weekend fishing in the Texas bays, and it was incredibly windy. I could cast into the wind with my spinning reel, and my buddies with baitcast reels could not. I caught trout and big redfish all weekend with no line or knot breakage, and this outperformed the rest of the team and their tackle

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great line, when it doesn't snap I bought this line just over two weeks ago, I. have been attempting to use it for crappie and walleye fishing, so im using 8lb line. I've tried it with 1/8th ounce jigs and all different size rapalas and it doesnt matter what i throw or what not i tie, the line snaps either while im casting or if i get the smallest snag. I have no problem with my other line snapping like this. When i am crappie fishing with a bobber and a minno, the line is awesome, it is super sensitive and had very low memory. It could be a gteat, line but needs work. Definitely not worth the $20 i paid for it. It has cost me 50 in rapalas in two weeks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to line Been using Nanofil in hi-vis chartreuse since it came out and I have not found a better line for snap jigging or vertical jigging. It casts a mile and very sensitive. I like the hi-vis to detect bites by watching the line jump as the bait is falling on a slack line. I have read reviews questioning the break strength of Nanofil and I have not seen that issue. I have battled 80lb Sturgeon on 8lb Nanofil and couldn’t get the line to break when I tried. I will add that if you do experience issues, examine your rod guides for scratches, cracks or nicks. That condition will fracture the fibers and weaken the line. Replace bad guides and you will have no issues

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Line = Big Catches Fishing with many youth anglers throughout a season, I've come to rely on Berkley Nanofil as my main line of choice for making lasting fishing memories! It allows up-and-comers the chance to easily make long casts and cover more water in search of their first big fish. The long-distance hooksets using Nanofil ensure that fish stay pinned all the way back to the boat. In clear waters I especially love the low-vis green option. The high-vis option is great for older age clients in keeping them in tune with where their line is in relation to the boat. Thank you Berkley for being continuously innovative in your product line!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best line for spinning reels I have been using Nanofil on my spinning reels for inshore fishing with artificials for about two years. I have it on five of my reels in wts. of 6, 8, and 10lb test. I has performed better than any line I have tried. It casts farther and doesn't get wind knots.
