Leaked In The Rain

I bought this last year on sale and we took it out in late July 2023 (CO). Unfortunately the fly leaked in the fuselage area in moderate rain. Sent it to Big Agnes and they sent it back saying everything looked fine. So we took it again a week ago (July ‘24) and sure enough, the rain came through and the fly leaked. There was also wetness inside the tent at the bottom sides where the walls meet the floor (we have a footprint). Ground pads had moisture on them when I packed up camp in the morning. We had the tent fly taught so that water didn’t just sit on it all night. Very disappointed in this tent as I’ve owned other brands that never leaked. This was a replacement for a very old Kelty tent that we had to part with when the front door zipper finally gave out. I guess I’ll have to go back to Kelty or other brands again. Bummed!

Built To Last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had our last big Agnes tensleep for 10 years, replaced it with the bunk house, I’m so impressed with the design, love the back door mesh that allows air flow through, the high sides mean more privacy if we were to sleep without the fly (haven’t had a chance to do that yet). Really easy to set up, we have been in heavy down pours (Yellowstone) and hot weather Arches with wind and we love it. I haven’t found a fault, also I’ve found the footprint fits really well.and is a good addition.

Sorry Big Agnes, But I’d Pass On This One

Let’s be honest here folks. Big Agnes did a poor job engineering this tent. Its pole design leaves it structurally unstable and dependent on the tent skin being clipped into place for stability. I’d say the previous version did a better job with their pole design. Out of all the tents I own (big Agnes a majority of them) this tent is one I do not look forward to setting up. I think Big Agnes got a little lazy with this one and I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it even at this discounted price. Trust me on this one. I wish I had read this review before purchasing.
