Review Titles Are Hard!

I found this tent incredibly easy to set up even right out of the bag. Plenty of space even as a 6 foot person. Would recommend. Got on an great 4th of July sale!

Promising

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tent for the next camping season and to reduce the weight of my gear. It sets up easily and is very roomy inside. The awning feature is unnecessary for me and I won't use it. I did figure out how to keep the fly open easily without this feature. I am disappointed in how sloppy the footprint fits to the tent. Once set up, if you decide to move the tent, the footprint will certainly slip off in one corner at least. You have to sew or tie the ribbon to shorten it so it fits better. However, time will tell how durable this lightweight tent will be.

I Love The Design And Features Of This Tent!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this tent on a 9 day backpacking trip in West Virginia and am thoroughly impressed with the easy of setup, space inside and performance in stormy weather. This tent is two pounds lighter than my previous which is a nice thing. I highly recommend this tent for the serious solo backpacker.

Awesome Backpacking Tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I simply love it. Easy to setup, light enough trek deep into the backcountry. The awning is a really cool feature I’m new to. There’s lighter options out there, even within Big Agnes, but I went with this because beyond all of its great features, size, and weight, it’s also freestanding if you don’t feel like staking out for whatever reason. I’ll carry a few more ounces for a more robust tent any day.

Superb

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tent for solo backpacking trips in large part because of other reviews & it fit the bill. I wanted a light, freestanding, 1P tent. I've used it a few times & I couldn't be happier w/ it. Quick & easy to set up. Packs fairly small. Nice features. I actually paired it w/ the bike packing footprint for this model on account of more ground coverage in the vestibule so my pack wouldn't sit on damp ground. I don't personally find the tent to be very fragile, like others suggest, but it's also not as robust as other tents I own. Take care of it & it'll take care of you. I own other Big Agnes gear & I'm never let down. They also have a great repair team (had to send my Big House 4 tent in for repairs after the dogs busted out one night chasing chupacabras)

Ul Tent With Tons Of Features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my eye on the tent for a few years now. While it is a bit more expensive than what I have spent on tents in the past, I can honestly say that I am very happy that I decided to go ahead and get it. The lower weight and smaller pack size of the Copper Spur UL1 made a big difference in my base weight and pack volume requirements. I am trying to get down to a smaller pack size for trips more than 3 days and the tent size was one of biggest issues. I know this tent is marketed as "HV" (high volume), but I was honestly surprised how much roomer it feels compared to my previous 1P tent. I am 6"3" and there is plenty of head room for me to sit up without worrying about touching the top with my head. I really like the quality of the stakes that come with the tent. This is one of the first tents that I did not immediately replace the default stakes with something better. I haven't had a chance to really, truly use the "porch" that you can create with your trekking poles, but I can see how that will be very useful for cooking in a light rain. It did rain slightly on the second night of my first trip out with the new tent and I had no issues, as you would expect in that scenario. I did break one segment on the pole the very first time I used the tent. It was 100% user error. I called and emailed Big Agnes, provided the required info, and they gave me the option to send it in for repair (no charge for the repair service) or to just have the part shipped to me, along with a video that explains how to perform the repair, which was quite easy. I did have to pay shipping, but that was not much.

Lightweight And Quick Setup Freestanding Tent

Very compact and Lightweight, worth upgrading. This freestanding tent fits me well as i always camp on concrete or rocky rounds. The design allow the shelter separating from the inner tent that i do not have to worry much under the rain. I have spent two hot and humid nights in the tent with a few showers on a concrete ground. The only concern is single door design in this 1P version, which limited air flow could be lead into the tent. However, given the weight and pack size, its acceptable. I am 172cm and still find this solo tent very spacious with various pockets inside the tent for organizing.

Lightweight, Comfortable, Performed Perfectly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just home from the trip I bought this for, a week in the Colorado mountains assisting a couple friends hunt. I could not be more pleased, easy to set and take down (we moved), and handled to cold, the wet, and the warm. It is tight however, so beware of that - I was and caused no issues for me. I used the “bikepacker” footprint which extents out into the vestibule, glad I did that, gear was kept dry and clean in that area.

It's Lighter Than Copper, So There's That...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been eyeing this tent for awhile and was concerned with the pole set-up being complicated, but that wasn't the case at all! It's actually very easy to set-up!

Camping On At

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this tent on the AT camping trip. Light and easy to set up. There was a severe thunderstorm and I stayed dry. My friend didn’t buy this tent and had a puddle in hers.

Lightweight, Easy Set-up, Ready For Any Adventure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago for a trip to Isle Royale. It is perfect for such a trip as well as other adventures to come. My requirements for a tent purchase were that it had to be lightweight, freestanding, and a simple set-up and BA Copper Spur delivered. It is spacious with room to spare and I love the overhead pocket space. The one drawback I felt is that it is missing a spike (7 are provided) to achieve the full design set-up. However, I contacted Big Anges and they immediately sent another. All in all, fantastic tent!

Great For Bike Touring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for the perfect one person shelter for long distance bike touring and have zero regrets about this one. My main considerations were... Ultralight weight: this packs down small and is one of the lightest freestanding options available, which is critical for long trips Comfort/livability: I am on the smaller side at 5'3", 120lbs--that said, I can very comfortably stretch out inside this tent and I'm sure it would be ample for larger people too. Downward dog is no problem. I can sprawl out on my sleeping mat like superman and there is still room for at least one large pizza at the head of the tent--very important. Good airflow and no issues with condensation, so it stays warm. Durability/longevity: Not sure yet, but I do have a 3P Fly Creek that has been all over the country for several years and is still going strong. This one looks equally well made--the materials BA uses are amazingly durable if you take good care of them. Versatility: the pole design of this tent makes it fully freestanding, which is hard to find in the 1P size. This is important because it means you can pitch it anywhere--rocky dry areas or concrete or whatever. The muted green is perfect for stealth camping situations too. TL;DR It's light, packable, comfortable, durable, and useful in a variety of locations. I love this tent and owning it makes me want to get out more just so I can use it more.

Just Right

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not too big, not too small. I’m 6’ and this fits me just right (with some wiggle room). Easy to assemble. Weight is manageable for backpacking long distance. Highly recommendable.

The Tent To Rule Them All

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having just used the tent on an overnighter, can’t say enough great things about this tent. The Big Agnes crew seem to have thought of it all in this version of the tent. Super quick to setup and at least for me, super lightweight. And plenty of room for a 1 person, where I always thought I needed a 2 person (6’1” 210lbs guy) to have that not claustrophobic feeling.

Love This Tent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this tent to accommodate my 55 lb hiking collie and my 5'6" frame. The set up is brilliant and quick, and I love the headroom and being able to fully sit up. Pup thinks the tent is swell. He did do a stretch and put a nail through the netting, which I easily repaired. Lightweight and exactly what I was looking for.
