The packaged weight of 2.4 pounds for a freestanding tent was beneficial on my hike up to Vicente Flat Camp in Ventana Wilderness (5.1 miles, 3,450 feet elevation gain). The weight, space, and pockets inside was great. The double zipper on the rain fly and net was not my preference. The Velcros on the rain fly was also not my preference when exiting. Overall this is a great freestanding tent for it's weight.

100% Satisfied!

I'm 6'2" and don't feel cramped, even with much of my gear inside. I've logged 15 nights in my Copper Spur UL1, including nonstop rain on Mt Hood and 30kt winds on the Lost Coast with no regrets.

Still Going Strong After 7 Years

I bought an earlier version of this tent in 2017 for my thru-hike attempt of the Arizona Trial (injured, section hiking now). It was my first lightweight tent and has served me well. I jokingly call it my "coffin" because it's pretty "cozy" in size, but roomy enough. I especially appreciate the freestanding style in the rock-hard desert terrain. I'm thinking of getting the 2 person copper spur as an upgrade...because I'm worth it!

Built To Impress. Proven To Endure.

After years of backpacking through unpredictable weather and rugged terrain, I've learned that not all tents are created equal but this one continues to earn its spot in my pack. From the first setup, it's clear this tent was designed with serious thought. The materials feel premium, the setup is intuitive, and every detail from the reinforced seams to the smooth zippers speaks to durability. What really seals it, though, is longevity. Season after season, it still performs like new. No sagging poles, no leaky nights, no regrets. Whether it's a quick weekend trek or a week deep in the backcountry, this tent handles it all with quiet confidence. It's not just built to impress it's proven to endure.

Love, Love, Love This Tent

This tent is amazing. Very light. So easy to set up. Wonderful & improved design (pockets, stakes, tensioning).

I Really Like This Tent!!! I Would Buy It Again!

I have been using this tent for the last 6 backpack trips. It has worked well in rain storms. I broke the poles on my Wind River Range trip in August. I sent them to Big Agnes to get repaired. I paid a small fee and just received the repaired poles. I plan to do another backpack trip soon on the northern California coast to test them out. I like the light weight, easy set up, and comfortability of the tent. There is a two person version that some people use as a single person, but I am comfortable with the one person tent.

Philmont Ready

Took this tent on several prep outings and then with my daughter's Scout Troop on a 12-Day Trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I had a different 1P tent before this and liked it, but shaving off weight for such a long backpacking trek was of high importance. I'd seen this tent recommended by other Scouters and decided to give it a shot. SO glad I did. I love the internal gear lofts, they really helped me keep my gear organized. The single-pole system and color-coded ends makes set-up a breeze, which is key when you're taking it down and setting it back up every day! We had a few days with some hard rain, but it dried out quickly once the sun came out. It held up to some pretty steady winds and even hail with no problems. I'm 5'7" and have plenty of room for my sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and gear. In a pinch, I can stow my backpack at the foot of the tent, but as the tent narrows to the feet, it is a tight fit. Generally, I'd only do that if the weather was going to be awful overnight and I was worried about my pack. If you prefer to store all of your gear in your tent, I'd size up to the 2P tent for the extra room. For backpacking, this is definitely my go-to and I'll recommend it to anyone!

Excellent Tent, Excellent Company

This tent has seen only one night in the outdoors so far, but it performed well and is super light. I like the new stuff sack and the caps that attach the rainfly to the cross bar: these are meaningful improvements over earlier versions of this tent. I should note that this tent was a replacement under warranty for a tent that had minor seam-seal failures that I might have just fixed with seam sealant had not BA offered to make my life easier.

Exactly What I Wanted And Needed

Perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Lightweight durable, and functional. This tent will definitely lighten my load for this 65-year old hiker/backpacker to enjoy more years of backcountry adventures.
