Rated 5 out of 5 by from works like a smoker should! Bought this smoker not too long ago and it works great! Have smoked brisket , ribs , beef ribs and more. The temp holds very well, and it produces smoke like a champ. Just read the instructions, learn how to use the P settings with the temp settings and you will like this as much as I do. I own a smokey mountain and an off set. I am very happy with this product and welcome it to my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome food, great deal! Bought this a few weeks ago and have only used it a few times. So far in getting the feel of the unit we have cooked cheap steaks (sirloin cuts), chicken breasts and hamburgers. Everything has come out moist and delicious. I wasn't expecting much from the steaks, they were $2.99/lb, but they came out unbelievable. Everyone including the kids loved them and we only used a simple dry rub for seasoning. This has become our go to way of grilling/bbq'ing, over our propane grill or nice electric smoker. I am very happy with this unit and would recommend to anyone, especially if you are just wanting to give a pellet grill a go for a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT GRILL I purchased this grill on sale because I had to cook for my niece's graduation party, and needed more cooking space. Assembly was straight forward, I don't know exactly how long it took because I had my 9 yr old helping me but it was not too bad. I broke it in the next day with generic competition grade pellets with no issues. I used it to cook hot dogs and brats that day (Not the most efficient way to cook dogs but it was what I had available at the time), just to check operation and they came out good. On the morning of the party I got up early and started the pit. Three 10 lb briskets fit easily, but with not much extra room. The smoke setting was a little finicky at first but leveled out nice. I cooked the briskets for a total of 8 hours increasing the temp after 3.5 to get past the stall. The briskets came out great and moist. The only complaint was the lack of smoke ring that I am accustomed to with my stick burner. After the briskets I put about 10 lbs of chicken leg quarters and cooked them at a higher setting (350 F). The chicken also cooked good and had a good smoke flavor despite the higher cooking temperature. TIPS -As the cooking temp goes up the amount of visible smoke is decreased -Even at lower temps the amount of smoke varies with time. as more pellets are fed the smoke increases and then decreases after some time until the pellets are fed again. -This is indirect heat cooking. I was accustomed to getting a char on my chicken, hot dogs and sausage. This is not really attainable with this grill. That being said, my kids love everything I cook on it and I don't have to argue with them that it is not burnt, just BBQ'd

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great smoker not so great grill! I bought this thinking I could grill and smoke on it as advertised , but was disappointed in the grilling aspect of the unit. I am an avid outdoor cook and have done some competition cooking, like bbq competitions and such so I’m familiar with different types of cooking apparatus. For a smoker, this unit worked fine, but the highest temps I could get from this thing was 350 degrees. The problem is that the burn pot is to close to the controller probe, when reading the controller temps it is 150 to 200degrees difference between the lid thermometer and controller temp. When the controller see’s 450 degrees it shuts off pellet supply thus lowering the temp, but in reality the main chamber has only reached 300 to 350 degrees. Since 450 is the highest temp allowed, your grill’s main chamber(the cooking area) only reaches about 300 to 350 degrees. This unit is a great idea, they just need to do some more engineering. P.S. I did talk with the customer service people at bighorn products and they had no idea why I could not reach the 450 degree mark. So my only recourse is to return product.
