Powerful light and long run time. I like the light very much (I have 5 for the vineyard crew)

I am on my second 800 pro. I use them daily walking the dogs and as part of my daily EDC. The Strap retainers on the first one broke after a few months and eventually the switch went bad after about 2 years of daily use. I feel I got my money's worth out of it. I just replaced it with a new one a few months ago. Again, I use it daily for walking dogs at night. I got stuck in the rain a few nights again, and it started having problems with the switch. It says specifically that you can "Wear it in the rain, just don't go swimming with it". Never had an issue with the first one in the rain. This new one crapped out. Somehow it appears water intruded into the electrical housing and it no longer works after wearing it once in the rain. I take care of my gear very carefully because my life can rely on it. I love this light, but I have serious concerns about it's ability to stand up to daily use. It seems like a good light for occasional users, but the build quality doesn't seem like it's able to stand up to daily users, even if it's for walking dogs.

Use this in ultra runs through night. Very bright. Great battery light. And the rear light makes running on city streets safer.

I bought the original biolite headlamp and loved it. Unfortunately lost it. Went out to replace it and discovered none of the current headlamps match that design. This one seemed closest, but is way bulkier and not nearly as useful as the original. If there is a current headlamp available that is more inline with the original's design, please let me know.

Good lamp, I really liked the light it put out- I typically used mine for night skiing or backpacking/hunting. That being said, I used mine less than 50 times and the plastic clip on the strap broke. As the clip is sewed into the strap, it rendered the lamp toast (or, at least permanently one size from here out). Not really worth the amount of money if a cheap clip renders it useless and it can’t be replaced. 2 stars because light and battery were fine for me.

Thought I could buy one light to rule them all.... I was wrong:( Ok it still gets 4 stars because it is still a good light...if you only have one It is definitely bright enough for on the road, but that power comes with weight. More than what should be on a road light. It has enough power for on the trail especially with burst mode but I want a trail light that is that bright all the time! Also that would be cool if the ditched the tail light on trail lights. No need for a tail light on a trail light.

Excellent product. No issue with it, except 1 thing, the strap. It's made of a stretchable fabric, similar to your waistband, so over time, it will stretch too much to where the band has stretch way too far to be able to tighten it. After owning it for 9 months, the band is so loose now, it doesn't even stay on my head anymore. I suggest using a different kind of fabric, like the headband made out of cloth in military helmets. Used them in the Air Force. They never stretch out.

I’ve used this head lamp for 2yrs now. Extreme cold for all night as well pretty warm temps. Always plenty of light for conditions. From extreme white out to rain to pretty much anything! This is my go to light. The pass through is also pretty awesome, never have to worry!

I've had mine for just over 2 years. I use it every day for walking and working in the yard, etc. After the first few months, the head strap keeper on the battery broke off, which caused it to be improperly adjusted but still usable. 6 months later, the black plastic outer cover over the rear housing broke off, exposing the circuity. I wound up duct taping it back on and continued using it. Last month, the connection on the front on/off switch finally gave out so I constantly trying to jiggle the wire to get it on/off. I loved this light and for the price, I expected it to last longer.
Great folks & products! Thanks🔦 you help light my way in a dark & strange land 👏🏼

I've been using this light for 2 years now, primarily for trail running in the dark in the winter months. Its bright enough to light up the trails and keep me safe in the dark! The light is great but durability is an issue with this as others have mentioned. The plastic retainer clips for the strap where the battery pack is are fragile. I had one break recently while tightening the headlamp to my head. Surprising to me the poor construction of a plastic piece as its so crucial to keeping the headlamp taught and on your head!

Over the past 40+ years in the outdoors, I have had a LOT of headlamps. The 800 Pro is without question, the very best one I've ever had. The fit is great. It is comfortable and stays put. The various beam and color options are handy. The battery life is very good, even in the very cold weather I'm using mine in (-20F to +15F). The bright white light keeps me safe as I'm hiking out onto lakes in the dark. While I have not ran the battery down enough yet to need to plug it into one off my battery packs, that functionality is a huge added bonus. Multi-day trips will be no issue being able to plug in on the go. Based on my experience with this light, I'll be purchasing some of the smaller models for family members and will recommend them to friends.

The light is really nice and bright and the wide setting is great, but it sits a bit awkwardly on my head and the light doesn't tilt down super well making it hard to angle the light at the ground so you can see where you're stepping.
Can't enough about this headlamp! This is my second one. I use it eveyday. I would buy again!
