I wanted a strap on style so it would work with both my mountaineering boots and my ski touring boots. I would recommend getting a crampon bag for them, though. The points are sharp and will definitely poke holes in your pack/jacket/stuff.

Great Crampon For General Mountaineering.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore these on a hiking trip this winter which included 4 summits over 4000' in the Adirondacks. They worked well for open face summits that were ice covered and too much for micro spikes. I wear a size 11.5 so I had to order the extra length center bar so they would fit my boots. Black Diamond should offer more than one size to avoid paying for additional center bar. Not for technical ice climbing. Happy hiking!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty straight forward crampon, no frillz, they just work great. basic high alpine glacier travel. They don't come with a sharp point on them, might want to give them a tune out of the gate. But exactly what I was expecting and worked perfect. No heal slipping, flexible enough for a decent stiff boot. Great Crampon
