Stupidly Expensive And So Worth It
This is the best headlamp I've ever purchased. The rechargeable battery with USB 3. 0 is long lasting and durable. I've had mine for over a year and the headband is beginning to lose its elasticity but that's probably from the buckets of sweat I've dropped through it

Light, Bright And Capable Of It All
Works well for all my night runs, rides and dog walks. I’m impressed with the fit, especially the overhead fasteners and find the controls (especially the tap for max brightness) intuitive. While on the pricier side, this is often used as my primary light source and offers me so much peace of mind in technical terrain.

Bright Trail Running Light
I have used it in one overnight trail race and it worked well. It is heavier then most headlamps and I like the ability to recharge the battery which I also bought a back up to carry just in case. Some suggestions is to produce a youtube video on how to use it and add a form of padding to the back because the plastic is hard on the head. I added a piece 1/8 inch pipe insulation tape that acts as a padding. The big test will be running the UTMB which will have 2 night sections.

Trail Tested - Review
I most recently used the Black Diamond Distance 1500 during the Bighorn 100 Mile Trail Race, and it absolutely delivered. Through rugged, technical terrain and a full night of running, the headlamp performed flawlessly. The variable beam angles and adjustable brightness settings made navigating in the dark feel effortless; running through the night was like a dream (like that?). The PowerTap boost came in especially handy for quick terrain checks or spotting distant trail markers, and the beam stayed strong and consistent all night long. I’m not sure how the weight compares to other headlamps in its class, but honestly, I often forgot it was even on my head. The light was secure and bounce-free, even on steep descents and uneven trails. The Distance 1500 is a serious piece of gear for serious nighttime efforts, and it has definitely earned a permanent spot in my ultra kit. Another top-notch product from Black Diamond!
