Additional Options For Top Rope Anchor

I just wanted more options than my quad setup as a top rope anchor. The HotForge Quickdraw was on sale and it was just hard to beat the value of Black Diamond equipment.

Great

Weird to be black on gear instead of gray on gear but whatevs

Beefy Quickdraw

The Hotforge quickdraw is a well designed quickdraw with a beefy 18mm nylon dogbone sling that’s easy to grab. Both carabiners are rated and snag free keylock carabiners. I’d recommend this quickdraw if you are not worried about weight.

Bd Quickdraw

Nice looking draw, lightweight, awesome gates, easy to handle, and clip.

Love Having New Stuff On

Love having new stuff on the sling its only two degrees here but the groundhogs said spring is still a ways off.can hardly wate.

Exactly What You Need And Expect

When you are buying quickdraws from a reputable company, you should get what you expect and you get that from BD. This is a device that you literally trust with your life and it delivers. Well made, light weight but strong, and easy to use when on the wall. The length is good for when you need a bit of extra length, but a bit short for some anchors, and you'll need to use an extension for those. I tend to only carry a few of these with me on a climb, with the majority of my rack being shorter and lighter 'draws.

Perfect Draw If Ultralight Weight Is Not Your Priority.

I've been rockin' these for a couple of months now climbing in the Red River Gorge, and various other small crags in NC and I love 'em. The draws feel extremely robust and durable, and the gates maintain tension whilst being very easy to clip. They're definitely on the heavier side of sport draws in my opinion but it's not enough weight to be a problem. I think the durability and pricepoint of these draws is far more valuable than any disadvantages of weight. I would say these are the perfect intermediate step between entry level draws and more expensive high-end draws. They have the high end quality at an entry level price point. Super stoked on the purchase!

Added a couple of these to the tool bag along with the 12cm to have a variety. Easily swap out with a locking if you want for anchors too.

Good Addition

Over all pretty good. The carabiners were stiff at first but broke in after a few climbs. I have the same hotforge draws in 12cm, but these 16cm are nice if you need just a bit more reach or so your carabiners aren’t resting on rock. They also work well at the anchors. The picture shows the 12cm right next to the 16cm. I keep two of these on my rack just to supplement my 12cm draws.

Bd's High-end Draw

I'm a draw snob. And have have too many to list across quite a few brands. I've only had these for a few weeks but I'm loving them so far. Very reminiscent of other brand's high-end key lock draws. The machining seems to be tighter on these than most of their others. The gates are smooth and just super nice to clip. For Sport climbing. These are one of the better draws around.

Great Product

Strong, light and durable. Great to use at the top of bolted anchors.
