I bought for use on a hiking trip. haven't used them yet but they seem sturdy and lightweight.

I use these for search and rescue work so they live on my pack. They collapse small enough to fit inside my pack when I need to stow them quickly. The dinos baskets will be useful in winter.

After maybe 7 days worth of hiking, the buttons that lock the poles fully extended, fell out from both poles. The design is cheap and it breaks easily

I can only give first impression as I bought the larger size poles by accident and have not been able to use them outdoors yet. But the folding mechanism is great, easy to snap in place and to undo them. Grips are nice and everything feels solidly built. I will be exchanging mine as they seem perfect for my needs.

Nice, light pack up small and look great. Exactly what I was looking for. Great trecking poles.

The very first time I used these poles, the small button that locks the poles in the extended position fell out of one of the poles and couldn’t be fixed. This was on day one of a 3 day backpacking trip, so the useless pole became dead weight for the rest of the trip. Based on other low reviews, it’s clear that other people have had the same issue with these poles. BD needs to step up their quality control, at this price I would expect a durable pole that lasts longer than one day of moderate hiking.

Yes, they are slightly heavier than the running-specific Z poles, but I am not doing any ultras anytime soon so these have been amazing for my short alpine pursuits.

I have an older version of this pool and love the cork grip, new strap, and extended foam grip. I like the concept of these very compact poles for travel but find that they rattle no matter how tight I make them. And eventually, because of that looseness, I think the metal at the joint wears. I would only buy flick locks in the future.

The poles are light weight, fit nicely in your hand and definitely add to the hiking experience. I have found them especially useful on terrain that is full of tree roots and rocks, river crossings and muddy, slippery ground. I am 5’7”, the s/m are the right size.

All that they are meant to be! Sturdy and light. Collapse to a compact size. Cannot wait to use on more expeditions!

I really like these poles. They're lightweight, strong, adjustable on the fly, cork handgrips, etc. everything I wanted and needed.

Tried them out they are solid pole for hiking glad I picked these easy to fold and set up

As stated above, I think they will work well, but found they require strong hands to deploy, as the locking sleeve is tight and difficult to grasp and slide (improved with suggested silicone spray but still tight); I used paraffin wax on the chrome (male portion) of the joints of one of the poles which helped to deploy on of them. I'm still working to separate a joint on the other pole (with rubber gripper) and will try paraffin on it when the chrome portion is exposed.

The poles are great, pretty light, they feel sturdy, the grips are comfortable, and the straps are comfortable. I wish the two sizes overlapped some; I need an S/M pole for my tent, and my hiking length is in the larger pole. I would have gone with the carbon, but they have no adjustment at all. I also appreciate the two different baskets and the rubber tips included with the set of poles.

I just received my new trekking poles and they work like a charm on uneven ground. They are easy to lock into their extended position and are small enough to pack in a suitcase.
