I find it a little misleading that these are advertised as an ice-climbing glove. These are for wearing to the frozen falls, but after that, they will need to be taken off. I bought as skiing gloves. They are warm, no doubt about it, but they are so bulky you'll have to have a very strong grip to hold onto whatever it is you're working with that day (ice axe, ski poles, trekking poles, snow blower, whatever). There is so much material everywhere you feel like Randy in the Christmas Story, you can bend your fingers but ideally, the gloves want your fingers back in the as-sewn position. Additionally, the gauntlet is kinda burdensome too. I would say that's more my fault but I was thinking this would be a short tunnel to cover my jacket's cuff and that's it. There is a lot of material here so just slipping it on and get started shoveling (for example) is kind of annoying. The quality of this glove is certainly top notch for the money. The materials are also robust. These gloves will certainly keep your hands as warm as most mittens too. My main complaint is that they are very large and really impede your ability to hold onto poles, axes, shovels, etc. Buy them for warmth, look elsewhere for dexterity.
