Light

Noticeably lighter than my petzel screws. Go in super nice.

Lightweight And Durable

I was impressed with how light the screw was and so far it's held up really well through pretty heavy use

Amazingly Light, Efficient And Well

Amazingly light, efficient and well designed piece of gear.

Ice Screw

this ice screw is awesome! best thing I have ever used feel so safe when using it

Bomber!

Extremely light, one 22cm is lighter than a shorty! Larger diameter is great for V-threads.

Unmatched Performance And Ease: My Top Choice For Ice Climbing

As an experienced guide and ice climbing instructor in Argentina, I can confidently say that the Black Diamond Ultralight Ice Screws are unmatched. The screw’s thread design, featuring a conical shape, is exceptional and allows for smoother placements with much less effort than competing brands. I previously used Petzl screws but have now nearly replaced all of them with Black Diamond's, which are significantly superior. The aluminum construction makes them incredibly lightweight, and they’re remarkably easy to place, even in challenging conditions. These are hands down my favorite screws among all brands I've tried. An outstanding product, highly recommended!

These Things Are Amazing. Super

These things are amazing. Super sharp and cut ice with easy effort

Light And Fast

This screw grabs the ice nicely and due to its bigger size can even be put into a previous ice screw hole if where your going is popular, maybe a bit too pricey for your whole rack but great for a mountaineering expedition to keep things at least a little bit light

They Sure Are Light

Full disclosure: it’s not ice season yet and I haven’t sought out an ice block to turn these into but the quality seems high and they are light. As usual the shipping was expedient. Looking forward to using this set in the winter.

Good Product Light

Good product really like the sharp screw. It's really good in cold weather.

Do Not Buy

A lot of people already know this, but the steel tips are GLUED on the aluminum shaft. They spontaneously come off. I've lost a couple steel tips already. The steel tip on my v-threading came off while soloing and making a v-thread to descend, totally sucked. I had to v-thread the rest of the way down with a yellow. This should never happen. These are downright dangerous and should have been recalled!!! The petzl version is secure and won't come off randomly, don't buy these!

Ultralight

Love the wider diameter design of these for the purpose of boring previously drilled holes. And the weight… don’t need to elaborate on that too much. Bought them for mountaineering/alpine routes in the PNW, can’t wait to put them to use!

I've Used These Screws For

I've used these screws for a few years now. They're awesome! They go in like the wind, they rack well, and they're so much lighter! Being a bit larger diameter than most other screws, they work great in old screw holes. My only complaint is that in warm ice they can bind up a bit for the first turn or two, then they seem to loosen up.

Best Screws Out There.

The wider gauge and double eyelet easily have the competition beat. Love these little senders.

The Lightest And Simplest Ice Screw.

Why would a ski tourer want anything other than this for their glacial/rescue kit? Easy to use, light, durable. Customer service was quick and to the point in rectifying an issue with my order.
