I like nice gear, so I bought the best paddle I thought I could. I was going down stream on a river and broke both ends of the paddle while trying to make it to the car before a storm came. I had to walk and swim the kayak the rest of the way. The video of it happening will soon be going on my YouTube. The plastic ends sheared off right at the shaft. On one side the carbon fiber shaft split. This is a terrible product that almost costed me getting caught in a nasty storm. I am also a licensed captain, I know my way around water and what to expect of my gear. This is a solid waste of money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This paddle came with the Deus that I purchased. You need a longer paddle for that inflatable kayak, because the seat sits up nice and tall. I like that the paddle is long, adjustable, and breaks down into pieces for storage and/or transport. It is a great quality. The only complaint that I’ve had is that occasionally the clamping piece that locks it in place loosens, meaning there is some rotation in your hands at times. This can be tightened back up with included allen wrench. Other than that, great paddle!

Their business model seems to cater only to a specific income class, and doesn't really consider income levels for normal working people that enjoy the outdoors, which is the category I fall under. I received this as a birthday gift. If it wasn't for my birthday, I don't think I would own any BOTE products. . .
