Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noisy, clunking, many design flaws. Save your money buy something else. After only a month and a half of ownership, (and have receipt too prove) this M3 trainer has turned out to be a piece of junk. It clunks constantly and is flat out noisy for various reasons related to manufacture, not use. The clunking reverberates throughout the pedals, We have tried relentlessly tightening, untightening the various parts all to no avail, even after reading and attempting suggestions for the online complaints regarding this model, for which there are many. Nothing we have attempted corrected any of the multiple issues. There are just too many inherent design flaws. Save your money and buy something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough Workout Purchased 3 weeks ago and built my stamina up enough to complete Max routine on resistance 3 already. I purchased the M3 for the agressive calorie burn it provides knowing I would be more likely to suffer through 14 minutes on it versus an hour or more trying to get an equivalant workout on a standard eliptical. My only negative feedback is the step rollers make a clunking sound and the heart rate chest strap has already broken. However, Bowflex has already processed a replacement heart rate transmitter and additional felt bushings for the rollers. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine This machine provides a great workout in a shorter duration of time. I have been using it 5-6 times a week and have noticed improvement in cardiovascular stats (e.g. Resting heart rate). It may be difficult for people that are beginning their path to exercise more. In other words, not a starter machine but if you start slow at lowest resistance and have patience, you should be able to acclimate. I have joint issues and have had no negative impact from using the M3. As a regular "pavement pounder" this is a great improvement and I will likely do this more than outdoor running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love it! The MAX Trainer offers exactly what is promised... an intense cardio workout in only 14 minutes. My husband and I both use it and love it. He uses the interval workout and loves the fact that after only 14 minutes, he knows he completed a tough workout. Even when he is super busy, he can find time to get in a great workout while watching the news. I just get on and go at a pace that is comfortable for me. It is easy to use and offers a workout that is quick and effective. It also does not take up much space. We both highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase My husband and I are very satisfied with this purchase. We are at completely different physical levels, he is physically active, and I am just getting back into working out. This machine is meeting our workout needs very nicely. It was not hard to assemble. We turned on the music and took our time, my husband doing most of it on his own. I have lost ten lbs since Christmas simply doing the manual level one. I could only start for 4 min, but have slowly and consistently worked up to 15 min 4 x a week. I will be moving up to level two by the end of the month. He does the customized interval training almost daily. What we both like most is that we are challenged and there is no joint pain. I am 5'3 and he is 5'9, in our late 40's,prior military and retired military so we know a good workout when we have one. Take some time to get used to the movement, it is not an elliptical, and not exactly a stair climber. Great home machine (do not treat it like the heavy duty commercial ones at the gym). Great purchase, I hope this helps anyone who is considering purchasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burn rate says it all After calculating tax, shipping and setup fees from Bowflex direct and Dicks Sporting goods, I found the overall cost to be better at Dicks Sporting goods. Called ahead to get cost for setup and was informed $120, so I couldn't pass this up. Delivery scheduling and setup was very convenient, and setup was perfect, no loose bolts, no rattling, and completed in 45 minutes. Reviews stating this is easy on your knees is absolutely true. Started slow as I haven't done any real cardio in ages!! Day-1, in 3 minutes I was winded, day-2 did 6 minutes and quads were screaming at me...pain, Pain, PAIN. Day-3 to 4, kept on machine for 6 minutes, and constantly massaging quads... Day-5 no more pain, started doing 7 minutes and not getting winded, added 1 minute cool down and stretch, done in 10 minutes. Working on week 2 to 10 minutes, then to 14 for a few weeks before hitting the MAX TRAINER button, goal is that button and hearing the bells!! Arms and legs feel great, small footprint for unit is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! So far I really like this machine, no problems at all. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I've been using it every other day and haven't run into any of the issues that others have. For those that complain it's loud, you should have known that before buying it because of the turbine thing that spins. My only complaint are the little hand grips that can be uncomfortable but I'll wrap them with some tape to make that better and more rounded. I'm not using this to lose any weight really because I don't have much to drop. I have back issues so I needed something easy on the joints and spine. I put this together by myself and it's really not that hard. If you can't follow instructions, you probably shouldn't be on the thing anyways. I haven't run into any of these mechanical issues some talked about but I'm going to use this thing consistently and if I run into an issue I will call Bowflex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be Prepared!!! The maxtrainer will definitely give you an overall workout like no other. In 15 minutes I will get the equivalent of over an hour on my elliptical. Sold my $1000 elliptical for $20 to my neighbor and will only use the maxtrainer now. Very pleased. Easy on the knees and ankles and you will HAVE to use your arms to help your legs.
