Awesome Version!

I’ve used Cascadias for over 10 years for both trail running and backpacking, and this is easily one of the best versions yet. The 19s are stable, protective, and grippy, with just the right balance of cushion and ground feel. They handle technical terrain well and feel secure without being stiff. I love how light they are compared to years past! Great fit, no fuss — I didn’t have to adjust the laces once. I purchased my usual size 10 for running shoes (9 in regular shoes) and they fit well. I just hope Brooks adds more color options!

Cascadia 18 To 19

A few weeks ago, I contemplated getting a second pair of the Cascade 18. This is my go-to trail shoe. Before going to my local running shop I went on-line to look at possible color options. I learned that Cascadia 19 was coming out soon. I decided to wait and try the Cascadia 19. Today, sweaty and dusty after a 10 mile run, I dropped by my running store. I put my tired feet in a pair of Cascadia 19 and went for a trial run around the store (concrete only, no asphalt is the rule.) My feet felt really good, my legs felt reinvigorated. These shoes have more cushioning and seem to have more mid-sole protection - I ran up some stairs deliberately hitting the stair edge to test this. I have ordered the sunny lime yellow - I'm finally going flashy. I am hoping they arrive in time for an up-coming 1/2 marathon. And then looking forward to using them in my first "ultra" next month.

Size

It is more cushioned than previous models. Very comfortable and great grip. No doubt that these are narrower than previous models. I have worn an extra wide in all the Brooks trail runners and running shoes very happily. I used some stretchers so I will see.

Solid Durable Trail Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After several weeks of running and hiking in the Brooks Cascadia 18, they’ve become my go-to trail shoes. I started with a few shorter 4-5 mile runs, then took them on some tough, longer hikes down into the Grand Canyon, where I encountered a variety of rough terrain. Since returning from the GC, I’ve also used them for several 5-10 mile trail runs. What stands out is their durability—the shoes show almost no wear, even after handling the tough conditions that have quickly worn out other trail runners I’ve tried. The outsoles are exceptionally grippy, especially on rock and loose scree, which has made a noticeable difference in maintaining traction during steep or technical sections. Overall, these shoes offer a great balance of durability, grip, and support, making them a solid choice for both established trails and off-route scrambles.

King Of The Trails

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hard to argue with Brooks trail shoes lately, and the Cascadia 19 - while perhaps not revolutionary - is more than good enough to keep propagating that legacy. While the Cascadia 19 is a bit more rugged than I “need,” they handle any trail I run on expertly. Road performance is good, if a little… odd. They’re not quite a road-to-trail shoe (nor are they marked to be one). For rocky and technical trails including in some pretty nasty state and regional parts, these worked extremely well. I even ran a workout (fartlek-type session) over some really steep terrain and the midsole excelled.
