About This Item
What Our Experts Are Saying:
"The premium cushioning throughout the heel all the way to the forefoot is unmatched with the DNA Tuned tech. There are two nitrogen injected cells in the shoe, one larger one in the heel for cushion and one smaller one in the forefoot to provide explosiveness, and they provide me so much more relief when running. Putting on the shoe is super simple with the easy pull loop in the back, which helps me get on the ground running quicker than ever. Most shoes I try on and they don’t last me longer than 4-5 months, I can confidently say the Brooks Glycerin 23 can hold up much longer than my previous shoes. The rubber tread on the bottom is so durable and gives me the confidence to run on any terrain anywhere. I can’t recommend this shoe enough for anyone that wants a plush ride, good support, and reliable shoe that can go the distance." - Dylan, Run Ambassador at DICK'S Sporting Goods Gilbert, AZ

Great Replacement Of My Glycerin 20's.
I am a woman that buys men's 10 wide shoes to accommodate a thick "10 SECONDS Pressure Relief Insole with Met Pad" due to foot surgery. My foot measures women's 11, but the insole takes up a size, plus I like to be able to splay my toes without touching the side of the shoe. I had purchased 3 pair of Glycerin 20's, which I loved! Although both the upper and the tread on the 20's held up extremely well, I was losing some of the cushioning. The 23's feel fantastic, but I sure wish the blue would come in WIDE. The extra cushioning around the heel doesn't bother me, but if I didn't have the thick insole that elevates my foot a bit, it might. I am not a runner, but need comfortable shoes to walk 5,000-10,000 steps daily. The sole seems substantial. I hope it holds up as well as the Glycerin 20's did.

4 Stars For Shoe Design. 5 Stars For Comfort. Awesome For Cushion And Injury Recovery. Great Daily Mileage/maintenance Running Shoe.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The primary purpose for purchasing this running shoe was to alleviate the pain in my right heel. Mission accomplished. With every run, the pain is gradually going away. My feet and legs feel good after long maintenance runs, so they have plenty of impact cushion as you rack up the miles. You will definitely notice the "float/cushion" if you have been running in a feel/speed shoe. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, thanks to its reduction of my heel pain. Question: Why can't wide sizes come in cool running colors? Would have liked something more colorful to run around in. SHOE EVALUATIONS to note. 1. A more breathable design or material would be nice to keep heat retention down. 2. Does not have a gusseted tongue. At this price, it should be a standard feature. Speaking of the tongue, it is thick, so if you need padding on top of your foot, this might be a good feature for you, but I found it adds to heat retention and less breathability. 3. Shoe laces are on the short side, which makes doing a runner's knot challenging. 4. SIZE RUNS SMALL. I'm a solid 8.5 across almost all footwear, but I had to return my first purchase to go up a half size. 5. Wide width is narrow compared to other footwear. 6. The heel-to-toe drop shifted how my toes impact the surface and has caused some nail bruising. PERFORMANCE NOTES: 1. A solid everyday maintenance cruiser. 2. Float. If you need it, this one has it, but there are drawbacks to be aware of. 3. Lack of surface contact feel makes uneven ground a bit more challenging. 4. I noticed pace speeds faster than 8.2; there is a loss of foot surface control due to float/cushion, and at 6.5, things get wobbly. 5. Stride length might increase due to bounce/cushion. 6. You will see an increase in your vertical ratio and oscillation if you track those details due to float/cushion. 7. You will see an increase in step speed loss and percent due to float/cushion. 8. On longer runs, you might have more fatigue and less stamina due to running less efficiently because of notes in 6 & 7.

Really Great Cushion Running Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been running in the Glycerin 23GTS for the last 350 miles and wanted a change in cushion. The Glycerin 23’s were exactly what I wished for…plus I like what was done with the lacing system. Much easier to find the laces, tie up and get going…even in the dark.

Good Shoe
The glycerin 23 is a good shoe, a definite improvement over the 22. Too bad they didn’t recreate the 20. That was the best version.

Brooks Are The Best!
Husband bought 3 pairs of Brooks glycerin 23. All were great but he kept the solid black, and the white, grey, and gum. Perfect shoes for riding or walking.

Great Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had only been running in the Stealthfit version of the Glycerin model for the last few years. Since that model was discontinued, I was a bit nervous to try something like this shoe, but ended up with no issues at all.

Bulky But Super Comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically go with the ghost series shoes but after this last pair I was a little disappointed. They didn’t even last a year. I decided to try something different and went with the Glycerin 23. They are a little bulky but super comfortable. Fit true to size. I decided to go with the wider size because I am right on the border and I’m glad I did. Overall a pretty solid shoe. Hopefully they last longer than the last ghost pair I had.

Fantastic Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the only shoe I ever run in. Cushiony but not too soft that it doesn't feel springy, durable, stable, and good for anything from a long run to a tempo effort. Plus the new green/off-white colorway is sick :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 22 was better, more form fitting and lacing structure was better! The 23 is too loose and laces too long, and we are back to the laces untying while you run. Overall, a regression compared to the 22.

Price Doesn’t Match Expectations
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don’t love them, don’t hate them. The materials/quality are nice, but the sizing was too big and it’s not a very exciting ride. Cost is too much for what you’re getting in my opinion.
