First Brooks. Won’t Be My Last

Got these because they were comfortable for my unusually high instep which can be a problem for finding sneakers that fit me properly. These hug my feet and are super light. I can feel the support in every step.

Great Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I am not a runner but use them for walking up to five miles per event. I have arthritis in my knee and do not feel any pain while walking or after.

Good And Bad, Depending On How You Use The Shoe. Too Narrow For Some

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first Hyperion was the 2, only complaint I had with it was the outsole durability: terrible, too thin and too weak for concrete. The Hyperion 2 had a perfect upper, perfect laces and sock like tongue, and of course a fast foam. The Hyperion 3 on the other hand is better in durability (so far I’ve put probably 150 miles). However, I’ve mainly been using them for grass/dirt sub-tempo (steady) workouts. They have served me well on the grass, not sure how they compare on concrete workouts. Biggest thing I hate about this shoe is why did they go back to the fat laces? Good thing I kept my H2s because I just switched out the laces. Width is another issue for many. Luckily, I wear 9.5s with almost an inch of room for my front toes, and the sides feel more snug. For people who don’t have narrow feet, it probably will not be good for you. I recommend trying them on somewhere before you buy.

Great Shoes.

I run approx 6 miles a day. I am very particular about my shoes due to heel pain. I have found these are very comfortable.

Disappointing revision and a classic example of regression toward the mean. The Hyperion 1 & 2 filled a relatively sparse market space for quick and light non-super shoes for fast days. They were not perfect - a bit too flexible for me - but very solid for their purpose. Brooks already has gobs of cushier, slower trainer options, but they seemed to have listened to people that were simply in the wrong shoe by making the Hyperion more average and boring - still passable for many but fantastic and interesting for likely nobody.
