Good But Needs Some Minor Changes

Likes: very comfortable and flattering, drawstring will be nice to have once elastic wears down a bit Dislikes: I miss the back zipper pocket from the previous Chaser short! 99% of an iPhone 16 with a slim case fits in the back pocket, but the 1% that sticks out is just enough to rub an angry chafe line against my back. The front zipper pocket is nice for a car key, but none of the pockets are sweat proof so my key and phone get wet. It's not Brooks' fault that phones these days are heavy and enormous but the back pocket could've been executed better - a zipper would've been really nice and what I would expect given the price.

Great Features

Perfect running short: — love the wide band on the waist.

Comfortable

Comfortable shorts! I few more hidden pockets would make them perfect.

Massive Thigh Openings Render Shorts Unwearable

Weird shorts. I ordered my true size small. (I'm 5'1, 117lbs). The waist is *slightly* big, but it has a drawstring, which I was able to tighten for a secure fit. My glutes had just the right amount of space; if I sized down, I don't think I would've been able to pull the shorts over my butt. But the thigh openings are HUGE. I wore these shorts for a three mile run and these basically turned into a diaper after a few steps. Loose-fit shorts need to have tapered leg openings so excess fabric does not gather between the thighs. I strongly suspect these shorts were only tested on super-slim runners with a thigh gap. I'll be sticking to my tight-fit, biker-style shorts. (For comparison, I'm comfortable in an XS in the Brooks spark shorts.) I'm not plus-sized, but these Chaser shorts were not designed for bodies with any curve to them whatsoever. All of this is too bad, because the waistband is comfortable and the fabric feels very durable. The navy blue swirl print was neutral enough but still fun. I've noticed Brooks hasn't been using many body shape-diverse models lately; I hope this isn't becoming yet another #thinspo running brand. (I'm an active member of my local running community and runners are such a diverse bunch! There's no reason to only feature size 0 giraffes in promo shots). I've already started a return, but I hope Brooks takes this feedback seriously!

New Favorite Shorts

I love these shorts. They are my new favorite running shorts. Love the color, length, material and features. Love the little key pocket and the waist band pocket. I'm 5'4 and 130lbs and the smalls are perfect.
