Very Disappointed With Downgrade
I must say I was very disappointed by this upgrade in Ariel GTS24. I made a switch to Ariel GTS23 from Adrenaline GTS in 2023 due to Adrenaline line becoming narrower and less supportive of foot/ankle in an effort to shave the weight. Ariel GTS23 was a superb shoe, my feet and ankle felt so stable and grounded as the shoe hugged my feet firmly. It was a bit heavier but not a big deal. I bought Ariel GTS23 twice and have run 3 marathon races in them, and retired one at 380 miles. When the second one was due for retirement, my size was no longer available anywhere on the internet. So I bought Ariel GTS24 a month before my marathon race. I ran a 5k race, a few 3-6 milers, a 13-miler and a 18-miler. The shoe sole was hard as rock, the shoe tongue was rubbing the front of my feet, and my ankle didn't feel the stability of being hugged by the shoe as GTS23 did before. After the 2 long runs, my feet were sore and my knees were in pain. I had to stop running for 2.5 weeks and just went to a race without putting in a 20-miler, which I always do before a marathon race. I knew my feet and legs would be destroyed if I did. I ended up running the marathon race in my retired Ariel GTS23, and they did great for me. No foot pain or knee pain. I don't know what Brooks did with Ariel GTS24. I'm returning this shoes. I contacted Brooks and they recommended me to go back to Adrenaline GTS24 if I wanted to have the same support I had with Ariel GTS23. What?! So yes, I'm temporarily going back to Adrenaline GTS24 WIDE (because Adrenaline has gotten significantly narrow) and really hoping that Arial GTS25 will come with old good features.

Just A One Star
Not sure why these shoes hurt my feet so bad but they make my toes and heels hurt. Usually, I wear Adrenalines but was referred to these. Will not buy these again and can't wear the ones I just bought as they kill my feet. I'll stick with the Adrenalines in the future. These might be great for other folks but not me.

Waiting For The Next Generation
I have purchased this same size and style for over a decade, but the current generation has major flaws: Pros: The lace loops are more durable, and the under-foot support is still good. Happy they have neutral colors and more minimalist design (such as black.. though this one is more of a blue black than the black from last generation). Cons: Durability has plummeted dramatically (they last only ~2 months), and the toe box has been narrowed significantly to the point of causing bruising on my toes. I usually buy in bulk, but due to these issues, I am donating my extras and switching brands until these fundamentals are corrected.

My First Brooks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first Brooks! I got these to walk outside and on a treadmill. They’re very supportive, comfortable, and well balanced. They have more cushioning than other brands I’ve tried and are true to size. Just what I need to keep me moving.

Very Good Shoe -- Not Great Like Earlier Ariel Styles
I've been wearing the Brooks Ariel shoes for 15 years. In past years I would say they rated a strong 5 star. However, as years pass I notice the shoe has become a little smaller. I confirmed this when I found a much older pair in the back of the closet! In the Ariel 23 (and 24) the fabric at the toe is not reinforced as in the older pair. Much easier to get a hole from the big toe even when the shoe is the correct size. This pair of Ariel 24 seems to be similar to my last 3 pairs of the Ariel 23 except for the laces. I cannot tie the shoes because the laces are too short when using the "heel lock" method which is necessary for me. I did call and Brooks will send me longer laces but it will be 5 to 8 business days before I receive them. It makes no sense to me to have a heel lock feature with shoe laces that are not long enough. I realize many others do not use the heel lock feature and that complaints were received that the laces were too long. The pairs of Ariel 23 I have do have longer laces (can't use them because they are the wrong color). My suggestion seems logical to me--Brooks should offer the option of longer shoe laces when ordering the shoes. Simple.
