What Happened?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently ordered the Ghost 17 in black with a bit of purple. I loved my Brooks Ghost 14, They were comfortable from the start. I found the Ghost 17 to be totally uncomfortable. I'm not sure what they did with the upgrade. The instep felt extremely narrow. I just had them on in my apartment and I couldn't wait to take them off. Needles to say, I'm returning them!

I Loved My Ghost 14, This 17 Version Has No Relationship To That!

I loved my Ghost 14...the 17 was so uncomfortable. I wore them around my apartment and couldn't wait to take them off. The instep was totally narrow....plenty of room in the toe and a pleasantly narrow heel.. That mix didn't work for me. I found them unwearable as they were so uncomfortable on my foot. Needless to say, I'm returning them.

Quality Gone Down Hill

I've loved my Ghost shoes in the past but these are absolutely terrible. I hate that I spent my limited money on them. The quality is awful and the fit is uncomfortable. I usually give a day of breaking in shoes before working out in them and I couldn't wear these for 10 minutes before I had to yank them off. Go back to the previous quality (Ghost 15 is the last one I had), and I may be tempted to buy. These shoes are an investment, and I feel like you've just fleeced your loyal customers for a quick buck. Change, or Brooks will no longer be synonymous with quality.

Slightly Different But Still Supportive And Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Ghosts for several years now - my first pair was the Ghost 5. The 17s are a little different than previous versions, but they're still supportive and comfortable. I first got Brooks for my running shoes, but after 2 knee surgeries in 6 years, I had to quit running. I'm a nurse and my Brooks are now my work shoes. I'm on my feet a lot and the 17s have been able to keep up. I'm actually considering getting a 2nd pair for my non-work shoes! I usually wear a size 7-7.5 and I always buy my Brooks in a size 8. Even though I'm not running anymore and don't necessarily need to size up to compensate, I still like the size 8.
