I walk around 4 miles a day... on pavement... so I need durable shoes. I am very happy with my Brooks, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great walking shoe.

Caused Pain Right Out Of The Box
The redesigned heel area doesn't work for me at all. The shoes hurt my heels as soon as I put them on. Adjusting the laces and walking around didn't help. I compared the 17s to the 16s I already have. The new heel tab is quite a bit higher, and the overall heel structure is much more rigid. I love my 16s, and I was hoping the 17s would be just as comfortable. But they're not. They're going back.
