These are OK - better than the 16s, but not as good as previous models. The heel cup is strange how it flares out and doesn’t hug my heel securely. My heel slips regardless of how creatively I tie my shoes. I am not wild about the stack height, and I noticed you also decreased the heel drop, which is a bummer. I'll keep them for knock-around and yard work, but I can’t run in them. Fingers crossed that the 18 return to us with the features Ghost is known for.

Have not bought these yet. I agree with some reviews on here. I'm fine with the changes but why do we have to get rid of the others. I thoght the 13 was perfect. I have been a fan also but after my last pair wasn't so sure anymore, which is why I've delayed buying.

Horrible
I have 12 pairs of Brooks Ghost, ranging from version 14-16. I was excited about the new maroon color so I ordered it and a black with white Brooks logo. The are horrible! I have never returned Brooks shoes other than for the color. but these are going back. These feel like combat boots. Honestly that are so stiff and height around the ankles. They are completely different than the previous models. I feel like the fabric is stiffer too. Why make such drastic changes to a popular shoe like the Ghost? You have taken away my favorite shoe. I live in my Ghosts. They are the only shoe I wear due to planter facilitates. I love Brook shoes and the service, but I am afraid I will have to go to a new brand now. That will be hard.

I’ve historically been a Ghost fan and marathon trained in my Ghost 16s very comfortably. However this model consistently gives me blisters when I do any speed work. It feels like the depth of the shoe is less than in the previous model and the junction between the mesh and the sole pinches the ball of my foot (despite getting a Wide). The 17 is still fine for easy runs up to a 10k distance, but something about the mechanics of tempo work doesn’t sit right.

This is not as comfortable fit as the Ghost 16. The cushioning Is the best aspect of the 17. Ghosts are my go to shoe for walking and hiking. The 17 can't compare to the previous ghost shoes. I actually will be returning them. Very disappointed. Also, the toe box doesn't seem to he as roomy as the 16.
