17s Are Painful. Bring Back The Old Ghost

I should have read these reviews. I’ve been wearing Ghost happily for 15 years. However, I’ve never been left in so much pain as I have after wearing the 17s. I ordered a pair of Ghost 16s and ghost 17s at the same time and I’m fine in the 16s but my left knee screams in pain after even a mile of walking in the 17s (I’ve never had an issue with my knees before). There’s something different about the structure of these that makes them very uncomfortable. Brooks, I beg of you, go back to the old format. The new ones look and feel like Hokas. If I wanted a Hoka I’d buy one. I want a Brooks shoe!

So Disappointed

I loved the ghost. Had a pair of 11s before I was a runner. And three pairs of 14 that I started running in. The 15s felt weird but I stuck with them and the 17s are AWFUL. Lateral sole collapses at the heel just from a weight shift in standing. And The heel cup situation makes no sense whatsoever-feels low and like it’s slipping even with the lacing technique to prevent it. It is so destabilizing to have the shoe you find that works for you get constantly changed up so drastically. Tried them for a run and they created medial ankle pain from the extra work created by that lateral sole collapse. I liked how they look enough to keep them if they felt good walking and standing but they don’t.

Disappointed

I’ve been wearing Brooks Ghost since around Ghost 8 and this is the first time I’ve had to return them. The high, stiff heel of Ghost 17 hits my ankle awkwardly and I can’t tighten the laces enough to keep the shoe from slipping up and shown on my heel. They are also not as cushy as Ghost 15 or 16. Ghost 17 is a big NO for me.

Poor Adhesive On Toe

The shoe itself is nice and comfy, but the glue peeled right off the toes within 1 month of use! This has never happened before and is very disappointing :(

I Miss My 15s

They're a step up from the ghost 16's which were absolutely terrible but rhey still aren't my favorites. They cause pain along my left arch after a while. I wish I would have stocked up on the 15s while they were out. They were the last pair of ghosts I truly loved.
