Excellent Trail Shoes

I used it on the Camino de Santiago Compostela and once broken in properly, it was my favorite to use. It offered support and traction for those uphills and downhills.

Feet Feel Good

Brooks Are The Best Running Shoes.

Good Alternative To Caldera Except For One Tiny Thing

I've been running in Brooks trail shoes for the last 15 years or so, and these are on par with the Caldera model that I couldn't find during my last replacement. They have the same cushioning, which I need for the arthritis in my toes (ugh), and support as the Caldera. The only missing element is the lace strap to tuck in the tied laces. That's a weird omission and something I would like to see again. Otherwise, this shoe hits all the points of Caldera - super cushioning, great response, lightweight, durable trail shoe.

Ghost Trail Perfect For Light Hiking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I am not a runner, Brooks Ghost are my favorite shoes for walking, light hiking, and working out at the gym. So when I discovered there was a trail model, I was excited to try it out for my trip this summer to Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe among other areas. Like my two other pairs of Brooks Ghost, these fit perfectly and feel like walking on a cloud. They are just right for a combination of sightseeing and light hiking. These shoes are a perfect complement to my high top boots for more rugged trails.

Nearly Very Good.

Pros: The balance of cushion and support is very good and for me is a good middle ground between the normal Ghost and the Cascadia trail. Cons: 1) Not sure if this is only an issue at larger sizes, but in my 10.5 the tongue is too narrow so it does not properly span my upper foot. I had to change my lacing to keep the upper from digging into my foot. 2) The tread began falling off within a month.

I’ve loved the Ghost for road running and the Cascadia for trails, so I was really excited when the Ghost Trail came out. The shoes are beautifully designed and look great, but in terms of performance, they fall a bit short for me. They’re not as comfortable as the Ghost road shoes, and they don’t feel as stable as the Cascadia on desert trails in Arizona (my normal trail running surfaces) where footing can be uneven, which makes sense, since they’re advertised for “light trails.” For context, I have low arches and a wider foot, so stability and support matter a lot for me. I really wish I could keep them because they’re so pretty, but I need something a bit more rugged. So, it’s back to the Cascadia for me.

Fit And Talk About Being 80% Waterproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shoe fit is perfect. Very comfortable for all day walking and hiking. The Waterproof is not true. It’s more like water resistant. But the water still goes through the shoe to your socks. Needs to be a little bit better on this. That’s the only reason I gave it a 3 is because it’s not waterproof. Other than that it’s a good shoe. I would buy it again.

The moment I slipped the shoes, on my foot I was excited. I’m new to Brooks shoes and thrilled about the way they feel and the comfort and support I felt almost instantly.
