Loved My Revel 6 A Whole Lot More

I loved my Revel 6 shoes. I mostly like the Revel 8. I like real holes for shoelaces and not little pieces of fabric, although thankfully they don't stretch. The tongue is really narrow at the top and slides around even with shoelaces going through it. Yes, I'm picky LOL. I also liked the loop on the back you could use to pull on and wish this was still there. I have a new pair of Revel 6 that I'll use first - will search for more of them.

The REVEL has great cushion, wish the tongue was bit longer, when you lace the shoe up, the lace slides up a bit. Would like to see the tongue another inch longer to cover the laced up portion.

Love Brooks

I always love my Brooks shoes. They are perfect with my arch and my neutral walk.

A great shoe at a great price point. They have just the right amount of cushion. I bought them for 5k distances.

Better Than The 7, But Still Needs One Critical Improvement...

The Revel 8 provides a secure fit for my medium width, low-volume foot. The cushioning is improved over the Revel 7 providing the perfect blend of softness and support. I’d prefer a lower stack height, but it’s acceptable. I also like the lower drop. The fabric on the upper is nicer and I appreciate that they lowered the number of lacing loops vs. eyelets to three on each side rather than four. The Revel 8 also LOOKS great! It’s sleek and attractive and would be suitable for both athletic and everyday wear. Lastly, the Revel 8 also has a much better sole than the 7, and it appears that traction will be much better. I’ve not tested that aspect because I returned the shoe. See below... Despite all the great updates and reasons to keep the shoe, Brooks still did not fix the one thing that kept me from keeping the Revel 7. The tongue is too narrow and too thin. Because it's on the thinner side, it doesn't offer enough protection between the laces and my foot. Additionally, the top of the shoe where the last lace hole is rubs against my foot because the tongue is SO narrow that it doesn’t extend under this portion of the shoe. Please Brooks – quit skimping on the tongues of your shoes for the sake of a marginal reduction in weight. Most people who purchase a Revel won’t notice the weight difference, but they will notice when a shoe is digging into their foot.
