Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buck 119 I bought this to replace one that I had lost. I bought one in the early eighties and left it behind on a camping trip a couple of years ago. This knife doesn't seem sharp as the first one I had. The handle has a couple of small dimples on each side of it, and the sheath has thinner leather at the top where the loop is for your belt. This is why I only gave it four stars. The knife is made in the U.S.A., but the sheath is made in Mexico. I like Buck knives a lot and own several, this is the first time I put a four star rating on one of there knives. I normally put a five star rating on the knives I have, and they are all made in the U.S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Awesome! I have several Buck knives and I have gifted them as well. The quality of a Buck knife is as certain as the sun rising in the East. I just received a 119 75th Anniversary Edition in gold. Not only is this a beautifully crafted Buck knife, it's a work of art! I'm so proud of the Buck craftsmen that continue to impress me with their skills. My new 119's handle is smooth as a baby's butt. The blade is so sharp that I warn those who are about to inspect it. The weight of the knife is substantial. Beautiful wood handle grips you back and provides the type of control necessary for all applications. If this knife was a car, it would be a Ferrari. Thank you Buck Knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable knife I have carried this knife in the boot and in the belt, in Texas, California, Florida and Central America countries, in humid and salty air for long periods. I have used it in wood, animals and multiple things. The sheath is excellent but mine has a mark because for some time I pasted a little pouch with a sharpening stone in it. It was my first fixed blade knife and underwent abuse and improper usage. After more than 40 years of use and abuse the knife is in perfect condition, the only thing is that the hilt silver has lost a little of the original shine. I use sharpening stones only and the steel is hard but nothing out of workability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from poor quality sheath The 119 is an all around excellent knife. Versatility, edge retention, weight and balance. everything a camping knife needs. HOWEVER, with a high quality knife, in my opinion, should come a quality sheath!!! I have a 119 from 30+ years ago. I just bought one for my nephew. Same exact knife except the sheath was very flimsy in comparison to mine. My nephew will not know the difference by comparison, but I do, and it makes me wonder how long his will last. I can guarantee it will not last nearly as long a mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST KNIFE EVER CREATED BY THE GODS OF HUNTING Let me tell you a little story.... once upon a time there was a doe. she had been killed on the last minute of the bow hunting season. My neighbor(NC bow hunter of the year) had this knife in his garage. I decided to use this knife for the deer he killed. The knife cuts out everything like butter. The back straps were just falling off of this deer. this knife also just looks so cool. steel is a big plus. my honest to god opinion would be that this knife is the best knife i have EVER used and i have used a lot of knifes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as it gets I have had this knife for over 10 years now and it still looks and works like the day i got it. It has outlasted many of my other gerbers and bucks. If one needs a good, sharp, dependable, and quality knife this is it.. A good knife is one of the best tools someone can have in life and they dont get much better than this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only Hunting Knife you will Need!! This knife was a present from my parents when I was 14yrs, I'm 44yrs now. I have used it for cutting small trees, witalling, and hunting. I have hit it with a rock to cut through the pelvic bone of a deer. This knife has never let me down. The tip has never broke off and it does not need sharpened very much. This will be the only Hunting knive you will ever have to buy again. The life time warranty really helps reasure you.
