Rated 5 out of 5 by from Homerun Callaway hit it out of the park with this version of the standard Apex irons. If you thought the CF16's were great then you haven't seen anything yet. These clubs are solidly a half club longer and visually they're just a better looking iron. Less offset is a needed improvement while the slightly stubbier blade lengths may or may not suit everybody. I do seem to mishit these more towards the hosel than I did the CF16's and I believe that's solely down to the blade length. Nothing that can't be remedied with a slight tweak to setup. Do yourself a favor and give these irons a spin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ultimate players distance iron Having had the Epic irons the year prior, I was skeptical about the potential of losing distance and forgiveness. After getting a fitting on trackman by a Callaway rep I was relieved and thrilled at how great these irons were in comparison. Excellent Forged feel, great forgiveness, and plenty of distance packed into a players looking iron. It was a no brainer to make the switch and I am thrilled with my purchase thus far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best irons I've played Got a fitting for irons and tried all the major brands. Apex forged (regular) came out on top. Irons feel great and are very forgiving even when I don't make great contact. Fitting revealed my swing speed is now slower than it was and lie angle 2 degrees flatter than I have been playing. Got a nice high ball flight and gained some distance as well. Lie angle has also got my ball flight on line instead of hooking as it had been for years. I had not even considered the AMT red shafts going into the fitting but they work well for my swing and these irons. This is the first time I have gotten a detailed fitting. It was the perfect time to do it with these irons coming out this year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best irons somehow got better. The best irons somehow got better. WOW! Amazing feel, consistent length and uncanny workability, all while providing noticeable forgiveness. It simply doesn’t get any better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The bar has been raised again! Just got my new clubs and love them! I have played a lot of Callaway irons so maybe I am biased but I don't think anyone makes irons as good as these. About three years ago I got fit for the Apex irons and loved them. I had been playing another brand that I won't name but the Apex were just clearly better in every way. I played those for a couple of years and then I got the itch to get something new last year. I went with the Rogue Pro. When I originally got the Apex I tried the Apex Pro but really did not hit them solid enough. When I tried the Rogue Pro I felt like they were very similar to my Apex, maybe the Apex was a little more forgiving but the distance was real close. When I saw the new Apex, I jumped on them. I have been to the range a bunch and played about 3.5 rounds and here are my thoughts: - Beautiful at set up. Not to small, not too big, not too much offset. - Distance is awesome, solid half a club longer - Definitely more forgiving than my Rogues - Feel, oh the feel! This is what I realized that I was missing the most, just puuuurrrre. Forging really does matter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best. irons. ever. cf16 were some of my favorite irons i tested but i never owned them. in an era where golf club companies are accused of releasing new equipment unnecessarily, callaway took 3 years to work on the next iteration. and i would say it was worth the wait. these clubs have pretty much the perfect footprint. it's not tiny and intimidating, but not distractingly large. good blade length, a little offset, and a thin enough top line. there is a distinct difference in feel between the cup face and non-cup face irons. but both feel great to me. the consistency and forgiveness is tremendous. and when you dig into the tech packed into this iron, i think the value is absolutely there. this is the first set of irons i have paid full retail for in over 5 years, and i'm thrilled with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever! I originally was fit for the 6-AW. These irons are so easy to hit, have increased distance over the last generation, have a soft "forged" feel and offer such tremendous ball flight that I could not resist adding the 5i to my bag, which is the purchase I made. With the satin finish I have found these clubs to be absolutely gorgeous and so far the amount of bag chatter seems to be much less than what I have experienced with the previous versions. One thing I have NOT found with these clubs are "fliers" that are frequently mentioned about competitors' irons in this category of "player's distance irons". I've owned a lot of irons over the years but these are the best ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forgiving yet amazing feel I didn't want to give up the feel of a forged iron but also knew that I would benefit from a more forgiving club. Luckily, you don't have to give up one or the other with these new Apex Irons. These are amazing. 1. They look amazing. 2. They feel incredible. 3. They are forgiving. I hit a 4 iron shot off the toe and I thought I shanked it- when I looked up the ball still went straight- I lost some yardage but it was amazing in comparison to my last irons in terms of forgiveness. I'm so glad with my purchase. They were spendy but well worth it. I also wanted to comment on Callaway's amazing service. I had an issue with my shafts upon arrival and they took care of the issue quickly and were amazing to work with,.
