Product Information:

Groundbreaking technologies combine to form the Callaway Epic Flash Fairway Wood. Flash Face Construction – the first known application of A.I. in golf equipment – employs data from over 15,000 face architecture iterations to strategically place dozens of subtle ripples on the back of the face to generate noticeable distance gains. Jailbreak Technology uses two internal bars to stabilize the crown and sole for even greater ball speed. A fixed back weight combines with a new, lighter OptiFit Hosel to optimize CG placement and customization.

Selecting Your Model – Callaway Epic Flash vs. Epic Flash Sub Zero:

  • Callaway Epic Flash Fairway Wood: Fixed weight located near the back of the sole repositions the Center of Gravity to promote easy launch and high, long-carrying flight
  • Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero Fairway Wood: Two adjustable sole weights (16g, 2g) allow for specialized launch, spin and trajectory. Position the 16g weight forward for penetrating, low-spinning flight; position the 16g weight back for high, long-carrying flight

Flash Face – Artificial Intelligence, Real Ball Speed:

  • Callaway engineers used Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to create a radically different face design
  • Machine Learning enabled Callaway to cycle through 15,000 face architecture iterations, learning from each one, before arriving at Flash Face
  • Dozens of subtle ripples – flowing from heel to toe – work together to elevate COR in the face’s center region
  • Distinctive topography on inner side of the ultra-thin, forged Carpenter 455 steel face to maximize flexibility, speed and strength
  • Face Cup Technology increases energy efficiency for faster ball speeds across the face, even on mis-hits
  • Flash Face and Face Cup combine to create high COR across a larger area and to promote faster ball speeds

Jailbreak Technology for Faster Ball Speed:

  • Revolutionary technology designed to promote fast, face-wide ball speed for elevated performance
  • Two internal, hourglass-shaped Jailbreak bars connect the crown to the sole, stabilizing and stiffening those points at impact
  • Greater stability and stiffness allows face to take on greater impact load, resulting in explosive ball speed

New, Lighter OptiFit Hosel:

  • Designed to make it simple for players to dial in optimal launch and flight characteristics
  • Lighter design saves weight in the hosel to enable the combination of Jailbreak and adjustability
  • Additional weight strategically located to reposition the Center of Gravity for easy launch and increased carry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond Good! I was able to spend some time working the the Epic Flash 3 wood. I am a good 5-6 handicap golfer and immediately I was amazed at how good it felt when you hit a ball with this club. The ball shot off like a rocket. I know I was hitting it 10-15 yards further than my Callaway Steelhead 3wood, which I loved!. I had no problem hitting a cut or draw and was confident to really set in and hit it hard. I am so excited to include this in my bag! I also cant wait to see how good the Epic Flash driver is! I would highly recommend this club for everyone to try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to set up and hit consistently. Before the first round I had many doubts. At the first tee box, I was surprised at how easy it was to set up. I'd pure the Tee shot, straight and long. Both the tight lies and roughs were no problem. I even used it out of the fairway bunker with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Increased distance while giving a smaller dispersion The new Flash face with the Jailbreak technology gav me an average of 18 yards longer than my Epic did while at the same time creating a smaller dispersion. I couldn’t ask for more, longer distance while helping keeping it in the fairway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT Couldn't be happier with this club. I too noticed a huge difference in feel and sound when testing against other clubs. Ball speed was up at least 5mph compared to the others at time of testing. I was unbiased and tried all the top 3woods and this outperformed all others. Was a no brainer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcome to the Majors, kid. Epic Sub Zero 5 Wood. The Epic SubZero has it all going for it. The 5 wood feels light in my hands and swings with ease. It naturally feels comfortable throughout, from set up to contact. I loved the Golf Pride Align grip. The grip was comfortable and even confidence building because it squares the club face to the ball and gives feedback in your hands when it sits properly. I don't have the Align grips on any other club, but I'm definitely adding them to my next purchase. The club strikes the ball with a lively action and the flight is pure. It has a couple adjusters (hozel fade/draw and clubhead weights for ball flight height). Off the tee its incredible straight with a medium flight, I couldn't ask for more. Fairway strikes fly straight too. I can fade it when the shot requires as well. The ease of using the club is off the charts. Very forgiving is probably and understatement. My regular 5 wood is an XR-16 and the Epic Sub Zero is in another league. The head size is a little larger than my XR-16 but I didn't notice out on the course. The forgiveness in off-center hits amazed me. The distance and straight flight was always there when I mishit it. I've never swung the latest Big Bertha's but if they are more forgiving than this I'd think they were gaming the system somehow. I wonder if this is the same 5 wood sub zero Xander Schauffele hit to seal his win in the Tournament of Champions at Kapalua. Birdie, 4th round, hole 17 or 18? The drawbacks to the club include the price. Its priced pretty high, but for someone who loves the game it has what you're looking for. The green/gold color might throw someone off. For a real low handicapper maybe it could have limited workability due to its forgiveness (I wouldn't know because my handicap hovers around 18). The bright headcover draws a little too much attention for me.
