Inconsistent Sizing

I would have given five stars for the first pair that I ordered. I liked them so much I ordered a second pair. However the second pair - despite being the same size - is so large that they fall off without a belt. Wish I hadn't run them through the wash assuming they would fit the same as the first pair.
