Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking for distance and Accuracy? You found it! I wanted to wait until I was about to take these clubs to the course before leaving a review. I initially took them to the simulator to get my distances. They were about 10-15 yards longer than my previous set of Cobra Fly Z irons. I played the course yesterday and hitting shots felt amazing. Let me start by saying I’m a 20 handicap. Each shot with an iron played beautifully. Even on my mishits they went where I wanted them to go and almost the same distance. All in all these clubs feel amazing and will gladly replace my cobras. Once adjusted to the distance change, you will be wondering why you didn’t switch sooner. I love these clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade I upgraded from a set of callway x-18's which were custom fit. First day out on the range had me shanking shots and topping the ball, which is no fault of the club. After about 3 trips to the range I adjusted my swing to the standard length from being 2 up on lie and 2 inch extension on my shafts. However, after changing my grip and stance I started mashing the ball. I normally play a fade and noticed after hitting these I still had a fade just way less. The ball was going straighter, and was carrying the ball alot further! Can't recommend enough at the awesomeness of these clubs. Highly recommend from beginners all the way to the daily golfer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great clubs I purchased a set of Steelheads in late December. I went to the practice range 5 or six times. I was amazed at the feel, height and distance of these compared to my old set of fitted clubs from another manufacturer. I took my game to the course. It was very hard to make myself drop down one to two clubs on shots because of muscle memory. My golf buddies will ask me what I hit on certain shots because they go sky high and land so soft. They are in disbelief when I tell them I am hitting two clubs lower than they are. Thank you Callaway for the improved iron play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW....just WOW Just picked up this set to replace my taylormade r7 irons at golf galaxy after trying several other brands like taylormade, cobra, ping...These new steelhead xr are awesome..Great feel, unbelievable distance and forgiveness. I normally shoot mid nineties , first round with these I shot a 92..No big deal but it could of been alot lower if I knew my club distances...when I would normally hit a 7 iron, I use a 9 iron or soft 8 with the xr....gained about a club to a club and a half more in distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great distance and forgiveness I am 46 years old and play to a 16 handicap. I have played Ping G15s for several years now and never had any complaints. Recently, I became friends with a master fitter that insisted that I try the Callaway XR and the Steelhead XR irons. The XRs were similar in topside appearance as my G15s, and the Steelhead XRs looked a little slimmer from the top. Both clubs gave instant feedback in the hands at contact that my Pings did not offer. Both clubs were considerably longer than the G15s (XRs were 15 yards longer and Steelhead XRs were 24 yards longer). The Steelhead XRs had higher ball speed, less spin, and a flatter angle of decent than the XRs. Off-center shots went as far as my old clubs and my shot dispersion was 14 and 22 yards. Surprisingly, I was hitting a Steelhead XR 7-iron as far as I used to hit a 5-iron with the G15s. Needless to say, my new Steelhead XRs have been ordered and I am anxiously awaiting their arrival. I highly recommend that you go see a custom fitter and give the Steelhead XRs a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best irons under 1000$ on the market I played 2 rounds with the M2 irons and played worse than i have in a while. "Im a 15 handicap" Tried the Rogues and played well but nothing compares to these. The steelhead xr for me was the most accurate and forgiving club that i have ever used. About 1 club further than M2 and a touch better than the Rogues... Extremely happy with these..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved My Game Several years ago I had Callaway knock offs and liked them. I have been hitting the Taylormade Burner 2.0's for the last four years. I really never got comfortable with them. I struggled to get height and spin. I have played 6 rounds with the steelheads now and notice a significant improvement. The weight and solid feel of these irons really suits my game. I am once again hitting the ball nice and high by effortlessly letting the club do the work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome distance these clubs are really nice. I decided to buy some new clubs after a 20 year LOA from golf. On a whim i picked up a club and went and hit a few in the cage and the feedback and distance were incredible. What i was hitting a 3 iron (old club) at is now a 5 iron shot (new). I have had to learning curve with club choice but it is working out just great.
