Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best! Huge hip pockets and room to strap a rolled jacket on the back. This can replace your backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking hydration pack Have used this for hiking and bike riding. While hiking, it is very comfortable and has convenient storage. While biking, it is less useful as it tends to ride down to far. Would definitely recommend this to other

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My go-to on 1-3 hour rides Wanted a smaller capacity CB for shorter rides and since I am 40 and don't have skills or game anyway, thought, what the heck, let's try the hip pack. Love it when you only need up to 1.5 liters of water. There is way less storage, but can fit 2-3 food items (gels, shots, waffels), phone, couple tire levers, co2, keys, small 1st aid-kit, and then strap a tube on my bike. Improvements/shortcomings: straps do come loose, so you have to cinch while riding or stop and cinch. Would be nice to have a larger strap you could strap a rain jacket or pads onto, like on the outside of the pack. I

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should have been much better If I had read all previous reviews wouldn't have purchased this, works well if going out for a leisurely stroll, unfortunately as soon as the pack moves / bounces the belt strap slips though the buckle and it loosens. Wore it for about 2 hours, adjusted every 5 - 10 mins, thoroughly disappointed. Expect a lot better from Camelbak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everyone needs a great waist pack Fanny pack, enduro belt, booty extension... I've heard them all but I still love the Palos. It offers easily accessible storage, unrestricted upper body movement, and no sweaty back like when wearing a full pack. Pros: Extensive storage to keep all your snacks, small parts and extra gear organized. Super durable and easy to wash. Easily accessible when you need to get something out of the pack. Reflective accents to keep you visible when it is dark. Easy to use reservoir. Compression straps to keep the reservoir snug to your back. Cons: With lots of storage comes the potential to overload the pack. I found the best solution to put a Podium bottle on the bike for water and just put food, parts and extra gear in the pack. When using the reservoir, I had to put fewer items in the pack to keep the weight down. I am pretty short (5'2"), so I think the size is accentuated on me compared to the average sized rider. The waist belt would loosen sometimes. Not too crazy about the orange color. Notes: I think it is really tough to specifically make a waist pack. It is a tough balance between functionality, storage, weight, stability, comfort and other factors. Camelbak did an awesome job and I prefer their waist past to their competitors. I have the previous generation of the Palos shown here on the website. The newer version comes with an improved reservoir.
