Camp Chef Explorer 14

I bought this for my husband for Christmas 2024 based on reviews of the CampChef Explorer 14. It was wintertime and we did not use it. Since then, we have used it three times. The first experience was pretty good and I was happy with the stand, two burners and cooking ability. The second experience, my husband could not get it lit. We tried again this weekend with my son-in-law trying to solve the problem. The burners would not get hot enough to fry fish and cornbread in two separate pans at the same time. The food sat in the oil simmering and turned out tough. My s-in-l,thinks the regulator/gage is not working properly and is slowing the flow of the gas, preventing it from burning hot enough for frying on the two burners at the same time. I had done alot of research on this type cooker and am very disappointed that it is not performing for the function I purchased it (having fish frys with my family).

My Filipina Chef Likes It

I got this for my Filipina wife to cook her “NASTY FISH” outside. Normally when she cooked it inside on the stove it stunk up the house for a day. Ask any American married to a Filipina about them cooking smelly stuff. This works OK on one burner but iffy with two. Overall, I am happy with it in that it got the “NASTY FISH” out of the home. My Filipina is also a chef so she much prefers the heating control of gas cooking as compared to the electric stove. The best thing is that she seems to like it.

Enough Heat To Cook For A Crowd.

We have owned this camp stove for 14 years..... we use it for camping, but also to cook for large events at my kids' schools, and now for my school class. It's simply the best option for any outdoor kitchen. We love it.

Great For Camping.

Have used this multiple times with great results. The only down fall is one of the legs locking bolt broke off the second time putting together and makes it difficult to level.

14” Explorer Average Quality

Stove performed as advertised. However, the storage bag provided for the legs and the wind screen is not going to last as it’s much too light-weight. Also, on one of the legs, the retaining screw broke off first time used.
