As far as pellet smokers go this is pretty decent ! Functions well but made cheap. If this unit had some thicker metal and the door sealed better it would be pretty great.

Great Smoker
After 9 very happy years of using the Camp Chef 24”Woodwind smoker, I added the Camp Chef XXL to the mix. I’ve used it twice since receiving it and assembling it. I especially like that I can manage the smoke level separate from the temperature! So far so good! I have two complaints. The first one is on FedEx. This shipped in two separate boxes. No biggie, it’s a heavy piece of equipment weighing about 150lbs. My problem was, FedEx emailed me that my shipments were on the way and would be delivered the next day. The next day came and went with neither box being delivered. I took the day off work to keep porch pirates from stealing it. Multiple attempts to get an update from FedEx went unanswered. 5 days later, 2 new emails that my boxes were again, “on the way”. 2 days later, 2 emails stating “out for delivery”, ETA between 2:30PM and 5:30PM. Went to work with the idea of coming home at lunchtime and be home for the deliveries. Shortly after 9:00AM, received text from FedEx that the 28lb box had been delivered, and included a photo of it on the my porch. Left work as quickly as I could, and arrived home (it had been raining hard all morning) just in time to see a FedEx truck in my driveway and the driver dragging the 128lb box up to the garage door in an effort to keep it out of the rain (which I appreciated). I opened the garage door as I pulled up and he dragged it inside the garage for me. At that point, even though they were delivered way earlier than projected, I was just happy that both boxes had been delivered and appeared to be undamaged. The second complaint is on Camp Chef’s assembly instructions. While mostly clear and understandable as long as you’re “mechanically inclined”, there were a couple of steps that left me scratching my head for a bit. Ultimately, I completed the assembly and had only one (1) extra part (a cotter pin). After looking over and through every piece, I realized it was meant to go into the rod of the ash dump to keep from pulling it out of the channel it sits in. In summary, if you purchase this smoker, allow yourself plenty of garage space for the many, many bags and boxes of parts and pieces. They’re not wrong when they say 2 people are recommended for assembling it.

Looks Nice It Would Have
Looks nice it would have been easier to assemble with some words on the instructions

This Is An Excellent Product.
This is an excellent product. It’s an attractive and functional design. The reason I bought it was because of the smoke box, which seems to work very well. My only complaints are that the build quality doesn’t seem to match the price point (though this hasn’t impacted my first few cooks) and that the assembly instructions are not great. Otherwise, this would be an easy 5 star.
