Very Sturdy
This is the first time I've ever needed to use tie down straps for the car, so it was a mystery at first. I'm probably still not using them right, but they're sturdy and held down my husband's new kayak very well down the highway.

Poor Design
I bought this product to tie down kayaks and they dont hold, they loosen up almost immediately .

Quality Materials, Super Secure.
This strap is a step up from typical kayak straps. The friction lock is very positive with a strong bite on the strap.

Good Tiedown In Horrible Packaging
I bought this a few weeks ago to tie down a kayak. They worked well for that purpose after a fight to remove them from packaging. Two associates couldn’t get the straps out of the packaging and called a third before I finally figured it out. Packaging is too heavy, excessive, hard to open, and wasteful. Adding an adjustable plastic sleeve near the hook end would help protect vehicle from strap rub.

I purchased these straps for securing my kayak in my truck, and have used them for securing other things as well, and they hold tightly, no slipping. I always pull over and check my ties after being on the road with the full force wind working against my lines, and, unlike rope and knots, these buckles don't give anything up. Works for me!
