Dad Loves It!
My dad was looking for something warm and waterproof. We know Carhartt is a great brand but this jacket is one of their best!

Great Coat, Lousy Zipper
This is a 5-star coat with a 2-star zipper. Warm, comfortable, good looking and perfect fitting; but I'd be surprised if the cheap plastic zipper makes it through even one winter.

Disappointing Is An Understatement
I have worn Carhartt gear for over 40 years. The warmest coat I have is the extreme jacket which they no longer make. I wanted something less stiff and more casual looking so I bought this. By far the worst Carhartt experience I have ever had. This thing does not keep you warm even layered. The areas without the Sherpa lining get very cold even the pockets. My Extreme jacket can withstand anything. Nothing cuts through it. Perhaps I had a defective coat who knows. I returned it and as far as I am concerned, this coat doesn't even deserve a 2 rating as I have gear rated 2 that is warmer than this thing. Bring back the Extreme coat with the heavy duty metal zipper and no this flimsy nonsense. You can do much better Carhartt.
