Keeps Me Warm And Dry!!!

Love this coat!!! Keeps me warm and dry. At first, I was frustrated with all the velcro, but now I am using it to my advantage. I hate being cold and this coat is the answer to staying warm in wet, cold weather!

I love my coat! I haven't gotten the chance to try it out with snowy weather yet but it still keeps me warm on those 30 degree mornings and I can still move around in it.

High Quality Craftsmanship

This was a gift for my granddaughter. She loved it. It's very cold where they live and the Storm Defender was perfect! ??

Not What I Expected

I got this and returned it right away. It was oddly stiff and did not allow much movement. Also felt like more of a windbreaker than a insulated jacket.

Fabulous Warm, Waterproof Jacket For Women!!!

Love this jacket! It keeps me dry, and warm and actually covers my butt! Which most womens jackets do NOT do. The hood is big enough too so you can wear a toque or beanie without it actually not covering your face. Pockets are huge in comparison to other womens jackets and have the inside pockets too. Everything I wanted in a warmer, water proof jacket as I walk my dog every day, twice or three times a day. I did wear North Face for years, but had to wear a Men's small to get the length to cover my butt, and bigger pockets on the outside with inside pockets too. But their quality is no longer the same and I am so glad I found this on Carhartt. I found out about Carhartt by watching Jenna Phipps on TikTok!! She would talk about how great their jackets and outdoor wear and featured it pretty regularly on their posts. I figured if it worked for her, I would look into it and I am so glad I did!!! Thank you Jenna!! Now the only complaint I have, is the zipper gets caught on the inside material when I zip it up to the top. Very grateful for the two zippers on the outside for sitting down or driving though. I had to wiggle out of the jacket thru those as the zipper would not give. I managed to free it up from the material on inside and now I'm very careful when I zip up! I do love the bigger zipper too! Makes it easy to work.

Great For Bitter Cold Weather

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this coat for my daughter at U of M who uses the busing system and has lots of walking between buildings and with the bitter cold of Michigan weather she has been super warm and comfortable. Definitely a great purchase.

Purchased For 14 Year Old Granddaughter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my 14 year old granddaughter to wear at the stables for working and riding during these Minnesota winter months. She loves the jacket and it looks so good on her. She is 5'6" and can't weigh more than 100 lbs if that. A size small gives her room for a couple layers underneath. Perfect purchase and had Carhartt Loyalty money to use which made for a sweet price!

Seriously The Best Winter Barn Coat I've Ever Owned!

I have worn duck coats for years and decided to try this because I wanted something I could also ride in comfortably without the coat bunching up around the saddle. The side zippers make all of the difference! I've worn it with a hoodie underneath and have stayed warm even in high winds with wind chills below 10F. I bought the blue because I loved the color, but it does show dirt from being in the barn. I'm now buying a black one!

Perfect Rainy And 40 Coat

Arms were a little long for me but kept me warm and dry in 40 degree rain, for at least a 10 minute walk and I expect would last much longer than that. Works as a commuter coat with room for a suit jacket underneath. Could be improved with a two zipper pull setup so you could unzip the bottom a smidge just to sit down.

Best Coat Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best coat that I have ever owned. Warm, water repellant, comfortable and looks great.

Coat

Love it nice and warm. Great for soccer season…. Love the side zip for when you sit down the coat doesn’t push up in you.

Great For Wind And Water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the material, the longer length, the pockets, and the strong velcro. Love that it is waterproof and it does block the wind well. I just wish it came a little more fitted in the waist or that there were those pull things to shrink it tighter in the waist, like there are on the hood.

Buy This Coat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this coat. Lightweight but warm, long enough to cover my butt. It is wonderful to wear in the cold, windy winters in the Rocky Mountains.

Works Perfectly For Me!

This jacket is better in person than it is online. I purchased this specifically for traveling in the fall when there might be periods of rain. I needed a jacket that would provide warmth as well as protection from the rain. I have previously purchased a carhartt jacket with the description of a "loose fit" so I was familiar with sizing. I puchased the large and it is a perfect fit. I have to pay attention to measurements and sizing since I have a very full bust. Not only is it a perfect fit, I am also able to wear it over a medium weight hoodie if I should happen to need extra warmth. I tend to "run cold" so warmth is always a concern for me. My previous option to tackling the rain in chilly weather, was to wear a down jacket and then put a lightweight rain jacket on top of that. Peeling off the layers became very annoying when wet. This jacket should be a perfect solution for me. I am only 4' 11'' and although I have short arms, the sleeves on this jacket are just fine. The velcro allows you to adjust how snug you need the wrist opening to be and I am able to adjust it so it provides protection and a comfortable fit. I chose the color black as it just works best for the color palette I gravitate towards. The interior and exterior pockets are great. There is an exterior zip pocket to the left of the zipper on the upper chest area, you will find it where the carhartt logo is located. My phone fits in here perfectly and makes for easy access when needed. The partial elastic at the waist provides a feminine touch and makes the jacket look less boxy. You have the side zippers and snap closure on each side at your upper thigh area if you should need a bit more width to the jacket. This might make it more comfortable when sitting, but for me, as I will be actively walking when wearing the jacket, keeping them zipped and snapped closed will provide more protection from the rain. It is definitely heavier than the packable/stowaway rain jacket I currently have, but as stated, I needed more warmth and not just rain protection. I'm not terribly "rough" on clothing so I anticipate this jacket will last me for quite some time.

Just Right

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The storm defender coat fits to size and is warm without being bulky. I like the length and all of the pockets. The blue color is like the color of your favorite faded jeans. Bring on winter!
