Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this helmet! My son switched to goalie mid-season & took a couple shots off his head with a helmet that had Styrofoam under the shell. There's simply not enough shock absorption with that system & he got his bell rung.Concussions are serious business, so we purchased the CPX-R with the more advanced shock absorption system. He's taken a few more shots off his new helmet & says he hardly felt the impact. Definitely worth it for the higher quality helmet!The parts of the custom coloring that come aseembled from Dick's are the shell, visor & chin guard. You will need to put the decals on yourself...no biggie & no surprise.

We shopped in store to try them on so he knew what he wanted, but he wanted to customize it. There are so many different options. He was thrilled when it came in the mail. He didn't even realize how many decals it comes with. He wore it yesterday at practice and he said the fit and comfort are excellent. All his teammates are jealous because it looks so cool!! Easy to order online. I've recommended the website and ordering to all the parents who ask.

I purchased the Cascade CPX-R Lacrosse helmet for my 9 year old daughter, who plays goalie, currently in youth Rec Leagues. The helmet, with its safety design and the fact it is designed to last through High School, means that she should only have to get the helmet recertified annually for the next 10 years. As the helmet is designed to allow for her to grow up, and just require a minor adjustment and it remains the most important piece of her gear. Very well worth the little investment for the long term returns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Customized Helmet! After my 11-year old son got laid out by a running check from a huge kid, we decided we needed to upgrade his helmet. After some research, we determined that the Cascade CPX-R is the best helmet available for his size (the Cascade R runs too big and was loose at the smallest setting). The padding is a huge upgrade over his Cascade CPV, there are more and bigger ventilation holes, and he loves the look of the helmet too. Dick's had a good price, plus a sale, plus an additional discount later granted in-store for a ticket-stub discount that can't be entered on the website - so a great value for a great helmet! In addition, the Dick's website makes it simple to customize the helmet with an array of colors for different portions of the helmet, and see the customized look immediately. All for the regular price - with free shipping! My only minor gripe is that the vent decal sticker was not included in the box as ordered. Otherwise, great product at a great price.

Let me start out, I LOVE IT. but for the mohawk decals and vent cover decals they come in sticker form and you have to install them manually. it is not hard but check the bottom of the box for the decals. Great helmet and the best out there! most comfortable. also fun to customize
