Unbeatable At This Price Point
Another reviewer commented on the locking mechanism, and I had a similiar experience. It took the poles collapsing a few times to get the locking just right - more of a user problem than defect, so just be careful and test the poles to make sure they are secure before heading out. I also lost both mud baskets that fell off somewhere along hundreds of miles of trail. Having said that, I would highly recommend these poles. They perform as well as other poles that are much more expensive. Comfort is not an issue. I will be replacing the lower pole section on these - Sierra granite takes its toll on the tips. It would be nice if there was a way to replace only the tungsten carbide tips instead of the whole lower pole sections, but the new lower sections should get me hundreds of more miles without getting all new poles.

Perfect For Seniors.
Bought the 3K poles when first available many years ago for mountain hiking. Now a senior (still using same poles), but need for added stability and safety. These poles continue to exceed my needs. Excellent quality materials, top to tips.Cork and EVA GRIP designed correctly - longer length reduces n3ed to constantly adjust overall pole length. Real rubber tips increase traction for better safety. NOT a cheap clay/rubber compound that looks like rubber, but when cold or wet becomes slippery and not as stable. Needs can change over time. Still using my original poles. The added safety and stability become more important as the years add up. They were excellent years ago and continue to be so in Lightweight, strong, superb grips, tips and easy length adjustments in senior years. Superior design. Materials and construction. What more could be asked for? Enjoy the benefits of a good buying decision . product quality and added safety of superior design.

I bought these several years ago. the wrist strap adjustment was always problematic. Now they are stuck at the greatest extension. The plastic plug holding the tension cannot be pulled out for re-adjustment. so unless you have wrists the size of a 300 lb NFL lineman they don't fit nor can be made to fit. The design is stupid. could have used a regular buckle system like others. Doubt this design was well tested for long-term use before manufacture

All But The Locks
The flip locks could be better, but if you spend the time to tighten them correctly they’re great poles. Mine have about 500 miles on them.
