Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shape. Works well. The paddle is light weight and strong. The blade is wider than my previous paddle and that makes a difference for the better. It is much easier to control a canoe and maintain a faster speed with this paddle compared to one with a narrower blade. We bought 2 paddles. One was perfect. The other needs a little work. The blade is 3 layers of wood, and the 2 outer layers need to be trimmed about 1/4 inch to be flush with the inner layer. Not a problem if you're a woodworker. Otherwise, just be selective when you pick yours out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paddle for the price! Used this paddle for a 16ft Old Town Guide and it worked great. You can easily cruise along if you so choose, but if you have someone who is strong enough up front you can outrun a lot of kayaks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bang for the buck I purchased these paddles to use with my Old Town Saranac Canoe. It is a nice light weight paddle and would be great for still water. I recently took it through some class 1 and 2 rapids and it did ok, however the rocks chewed up the paddle quite a bit. Also it's very slick and my hand slipped quite a few times. I would purchase again for for still water as the price is right and the finish isn't bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Paddle Overall this paddle was excellent. Strong construction yet lightweight. The available sizes up to 66" make this paddle one of the few I could find for my height (6'2"). The extra length gave me extra leverage with which to paddle. My only complaint is that the finish on the paddle is not all that resilient. It scratches fairly easily; though this does not effect the performance of the paddle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value - and Looks Good as Well!!! While I have not yet used my "own" Caviness Wooden Canoe Paddle, I have used my friend's. It is identical to mine, so I am speaking from experience. This Paddle is an excellent value - very reasonably priced and fully functional for a trip down the water. It is comfortable to hold and very lightweight, And - it looks good as well!!! I completely recommend this paddle!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent paddle. This paddle is the right size and weight for my canoe. It is a really nice and useful paddle. My only complaint is the knob where your hand holds the paddle is rough and needs to be sanded for a comfortable grip, especially for the two day trips we take. Other wise nice price and great paddle. Staff was awesome and showed me an excellent deal on reels and rods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time in a Canoe My husband and I recently purchased a canoe and paddles. We followed the easy instructions to determine the right size and a couple of days later we were enjoying a beautiful day on the lake in Evergreen, Colorado. The paddles are extremely light weight and very comfortable to use. We would highly recommend this paddle.
